Wouldnt be surprised to see james bailey being asked to put a shift in at left back.

1-1 to us if that makes sense. We'll tonk them all over the park but we wont win. Biggest success would be no injuries as I fancy Boothroyd may have them a little too fired up.

Who's going to play left back?

Roberts injured and Hoggy not travelling to Northampton

GARETH Roberts' tight hamstring is set to keep him out of Derby County's pre-season game against Northampton Town at Sixfields Stadium tonight (7.30pm).

The Rams' left-back missed the victory over Burton Albion on Saturday and is unlikely to be risked at Northampton.

He is expected to be ready for Friday's friendly against Colchester United.

Triallist Michael Hoganson played left-back at Burton and although he will not travel with the squad to Northampton, the 18-year-old, who has been released by Newcastle United, remains a player the Rams are interested in.

Hoganson has been offered a one-year deal by tonight's opponents after he impressed in a recent friendly for the Cobblers.

Another triallist, Valentin Gjokaj, is in the Rams squad.

The 18-year-old Swiss defender started alongside skipper Richard Keogh at centre-back in the friendlies against Mansfield Town and Burton.

Goalkeeper Adam Legzdins is yet to feature in pre-season but he will travel having recovered from a dead leg.

Number one Frank Fielding played for an hour at Burton before he was replaced by Saul Deeney.

Midfielder Craig Bryson is fit after being replaced at half-time on Saturday due to a slight groin strain but 17-year-old midfielder Will Hughes has a slight thigh problem.

Steve Davies will not be involved again.

The striker's future at Derby remains uncertain after he turned down the offer of a new contract.

Ipswich Town are favourites to sign the 24-year-old but the two clubs are still trying to reach agreement on the size of the fee.

Davies has not been risked in the two friendlies so far.
