i always wanted to do the transiberian express, see the Great Wall of China, Moscow and everything in between. I had it booked, but I cancelled it and got my money back when I met my wife so I could fly back to Peru. I'll do it with her one day.

Highly recommended! 2 weeks in train, too much vodka and friendly people who doesn't understand you or you them. Then go through Mongolia (saw only one occidental at Ulan Bator, Henry Rollins of course 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />. great guy, by the way ) to China, we're you can go from steppe (is that even right word?) to mountains or to beaches with palm trees or to Hong Kong... I bet it's bigger than Texas. 2-3 months would be a good start!

But where to next? Hull sounds interesting but bit scary... Propably to Kiev, 1 of July. 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

Most of my list is based in Europe with Rome, Florence, Vatican, Alexandria etc. Should be able to do most of these next year when I move to Budapest for six months, from what I gather it's pretty easy and cheap to travel within mainland Europe, but I could have been misled.

I'd like to play cricket in Australia and New Zealand after giving up the opportunity a few years ago and get a lovely tan while doing so. Should be booking one of those Europe-wide train tickets soon for next year with a few mates, tick a few places of the list.

Anywhere with some good history is fine, preferably some good sunshine as well because if it's going to rain there's plenty of history I can get in this country in the rain.

No, you can't help that TigerTedd. Most of my rellies are in Barnsley, one is in Oz and one is in California. Chances of us getting out there aren't very high, unless some very kind travel agent can chuck us a freebie? I've got rellies in California too. Another story: My Dad took me to see them when I was nearly 18, and we went to Las Vegas. Course in America, you can't do anything whether your nearly 18, or 18, so although it was awesome, it was also a bit crap. I vowed I'd go back for my 21st birthday. Seemed like an unobtainable dream, til my Nanna died a month before my 21st birthday. Tragic of course, but every cloud has a silver lining, she left me just enough to go to Vegas for my birthday.

The moral of the story is, there is always a way, or things will fall into place, or it's handy to have elderly relatives, or something like that.

I can get you as far as Mexico, you'd have to start trekking North from there.

I need to get me some rich elder relatives.

My condolences as well of course.

Of course I'd love to make the hop across the pond and see the Rams play in person at Pride Park...other than that I haven't even been to half of our 50 states yet. So I'd like to get a chance to visit them all someday. Other than that, probably Ireland or Germany. Need to make myself a more worldly man though than that.

I always thought spending a year in the states would be good fun, a week in every state (although you might want to spend a bit less in crap one's like North Dakota, and longer in good ones like Miami (and, of course, Kansas)).

Isn't it a fact that most American's don't have passports though. Very similar to Australians. Obviously, we see lots of them over here pulling pints, but the vast majority barely recognise that the rest of the world exists. In a way, I can't blame them (Aussies or Americans) because there is so much to see and do in there own vast country. But the fact that you're thinking about getting out and about makes you alright in my book. You could set your sights higher than Ireland and Germany though, they're full of Irish people, and Germans 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> .

I missed out my personal dream which is to go to North Korea. While I despise the people running it, I think it would be very interesting to go and visit the country, it has some wonderful sites and to get a glimpse inside the one of the only completely closed up countries in the world would be interesting.

I would point out that Miami isn't s a state, it's a city in Florida. America is so vast and ranges so wildly in its culture, landscape, and peoples that really some of us don't see any reason to look beyond our borders because you can find anything and everything right here in America. I mean there's still towns in Kansas where quite a few people speak Polish almost as well as English.

Saigon, going there later this year. Thailand and Bali have been ruined by the package holiday riff raff.

Burma, Nam, and Laos will go the same way soon, so get there quick....

YR, you'd go down very well in North Korea with your socialist mind ripe for further brain washing lol

Who's going to put their names down for this trip then?

I'd love to take that trip but it is a bit too expensive for me. 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' /> But if I'm a good boy all summer and stay out of pubs I might reach the next best thing. Borneo, Tibet and Japan

If you make it out this way let me know and I'll take you for a beer, oh and bring me some creme eggs. My Hols are booked this year, 2 weeks in sunny Derbyshire and I can't wait, love it here but miss the family and friends, a place is only as good as the people
