derbydan
I just think smoking in bars ect was acceptable but smoking in a restaurant is just pure rude glad it banned everywhere over here now
uttoxram75
Its amazing how quickly smoking in pubs now feels so old fashioned.
froggg
As someone who is a non smoker and has watched his mum die at 37 due to smoking I think the ban in public places was long overdue in this country.. MrsRam
Sorry to hear that froggg - watched my mum do the same, albeit a couple of decades older - still no age tho. I think it's what we get used to, when we went abroad last year and nearly everyone smoked, just anywhere, it did make it uncomfortable for us and the kids thought it was disgusting. Ten years ago and we wouldn't have noticed it. As an ex smoker, I've seen both sides of the coin but think it's better as it is now. Nobody likes going home stinking of fag smoke and especially in restaurants, although I think having non smoking rooms and smoking rooms would be a good idea, not to just turn folk outside if they want a fag and now hospitals and places where you can't smoke in the grounds - just a bit extreme for me. swansea ram
As daft as this sounds, but since they banned smoking indoors, I'm now forced to smoke more. As i work outdoors, i now have the displeasure of being forced to smoke everyone else's 2nd hand smoke. Really makes my blood boil. trigger
i just wished smokers on holidays had a bit of respect for non smokers in thier prescence, the price of smokes nowadays are expensive, i used to pay a pittence for them in the naafi and send them home to m8s
ladyram
I tend to wander off and have a smoke where there's nobody about - but what hacks me off is when non smokers wander over to where I am then moan! If you don't like it, go stand someplace else and let me smoke me fag in peace, then we're all happy!
derbydan
Aren't the cigs like £8 or £9 in aus trig? my friend jo is moving over there next month & said it was really expensive compared to over here for cigs
rynny
I think that places should have been given a choice whether or not they were smoking or non-smoking, and the council decide if there was enough of both. That way everyone has the choice.
swansea ram
What i have always said (as a non smoker) is that if a pub sell food, no smoking. If a pub does not, then allowi smoking in it. That way people have a choice.
