MrsRam Posted January 1, 2013 Share Posted January 1, 2013 Thing is for me - apart from the actual night, where if you're not having the best partaay in the world, or dahn tahn, paying a fortune to get home, you're a bore........ I don't like the fact that another year is celebrated, with the best this, the worst that, I have a birthday to slowly toll another year of my life....my daughter (18 in July) said, apologetically, that this was the last new year that she would spend with us......Haha, get the other one gone, and we're off to the hills... I dont know why it gets on my nerves, i need someone who shares this feeling to explain it to me. For example, i'll go on Facebook and just see the usual, 'Happy New Year Everyone!!!!!' or i'll get the usual group text from people wishing all their contacts a happy new year and it just f*cking pisses me off. He's on the mend thankfully and just had news that my wife is expecting again so a great start to the New Year. Sorry to hear that mcsilks - my daughter had pneumonia when she was about 24 months old.... about 6 weeks after I lost my mum. I took her to the doctors and he tried to give her 'asthma' medicine, like the nebuliser......and she was out of it. We went to the Childrens Hospital and sat there for what seemed like ages, before someone came to take her temperature, then it was madness from there on. She stayed in hospital for a week. Doesn't help when they don't want the medicine....... She's fine now - but just watch him, and always tell the doctor that he's had pneumonia. Congratulations for the new one......another Ram. Where I live it's quite **** to go out, no clubs just a couple of whetherspoon type places and a lot of pubs. I do quite like this setup in general, but on New Years it's f*cking packed everywhere and **** pubs find the nerve to charge you to get in, even the casino was charging to get in. Then to get home you've got to pay about a score for a cab. It's just the same as any other night out but you're asked to pay about 3 times as much. I think MrsRam has summed it up quite well, it's all just fake emotion. When people start celebrating just after 12, who gives a f*ck? It's just another day, get over it.
