T'Modern game is all abit strange of late.....its hard not to feel that football fans are having the P*ss ripped out of em at every turn....Cloughie seems to be doing a great job with this squad and there seems to be somewhat of a bridge between the club and fans right now....i wonder how long it can last...or how far it can develop....anyroad.....i'd like to think that Derby could be a club that survive the inevitable meltdown that english football will soon encounter.... and can we learn something from the clubs who are already taking stand for something.... heres a link to something ive witnessed first hand and was totally taken back by.... please watch and i'd love to hear you views....... i'm sure we could really learn something from these guys....the message is different but the pride and belief in your own club could surely be replicated and beneficial... LONG LIVE THE RAMS!

Nice little video that.

Will Derby County ever have a support and belief that strong? Probably not. Our time to stand up to the corporate machine has passed. A lot of the fans who actually care about such things have been priced out, or simply lost interest in being treated like a criminal every time they step into a football ground. The time for action to be taken I believe was when it was first put forward that we should leave the Baseball Ground. You can argue all day about how that allowed us to develop, buy better players, increase our fanbase etc, but we lost a huge part of our identity and history chasing the Premiership TV money in the mid nineties. As fans we have already sold our soul.

The only way for us as fans to assert our values and beliefs is for us to start showing what we feel - something the English, and the people of Derby aren't very good at. Plus I believe there's simply not enough people with the time, determination and passion to really make much of an impact - you only have to look at most of the threads regarding ticket prices to find that a lot of our fans are quite happy being used as cash cows and people who point out that £30 for a game of football is too much are told "well don't go then", which completely misses the point.

Ah well...

we have a lot more soul than alot of other teams about atm. Nigel's done well with the squad and they seem to be 'hardworking' footballers. they'll never be another club which is run well and has the right values but in this day and age ilm reasonably happy with what we've got at the moment..... apart from the boo's for 1 misplaced pass.

Putting the St. Pauli thing aside for a minute, the positive remarks I've been getting from Stoke, Wolves, West Brom, Villa and Blues fans about the way Clough has been given time to rebuild and ease the big earners out of the club is now becoming boring! 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

The team he is building looks like he knows what he's doing and we, the fans, are being applauded by others for being patient and letting him have the chance to do it.

I know some think he should have been sacked even though they have no realistic alternatives to put forward, but it feels to me that we are in for a similar ride to the one Arthur Cox provided back in the late 80's.

We have no idea how far it will go, but with what's happening up the road, and the stupid money being spent at franchise Lessta City, then I prefer what Derby are doing.

There's no values in football now and no clubs can truly claim to hold the moral high ground, but for what its worth, DCFC are currently up there with the best.

Lets get behind Clough and the team and enjoy it while its happening. Life is too short to worry about what might happen in the future.

If we as fans start to emulate the players for pride, passion and commitment then we can smash the back doors in of this League and go kick some corporate ass in the Prem.

WHO ARE YA!

I was just eight days in Derby and saw games against Millwall and Barnsley. There were better atmosphere this year on the stadium than has been previously when I've been there. Friend of mine I've been there with is Villa fan and he agreed on this also. Especially game against Barnsley was very enjoyable to watch because the fans were great. And so was the game for that matter.

I had several discussions with fans in different age groups and I could see how much the team means to them. When we were in Premier last time and the season went the way it went the fans stayed loyal. That was noticed all the way here in Finland. I think that goes long way on Derby values. We also know pretty well our history which has been filled with ups and downs. On the way we seem to have gathered fans all over Europe.

I think everyone on Pride Park can feel proud to support Derby. Naturally we all can still do things to make The Rams more respected and enjoyable for ourselves and others.
