Hucknall Ram
Right, can anyone help Got a cable from my arial comes into my front room, I then split it, one going upstairs into the bedroom and the other into the TV in the front room. The TV upstairs has a prefect signal, picks up all the channels with the brown cable(which I believe is a poorer quality cable) but the TV downstairs hardly picks any channels and ones it does are a poor quality (with a black cable). Both TV's are built in freeview.
Day
Spliters can weaken the signal, try removing the splitter and go direct to the downstairs TV. See if that works.

Day
Not sure, you would have to wait for our resident electrician although sounds like your aerial isn't strong enough, might need to invest in a signal booster

Day
Don't think I would say they were expressive no, they don't really have feelings as such they just amplify the signal.

Day
Never bought one, guessing they would vary in price. Try somewhere like Tesco as they will take it back no problems if it doesn't work.
Boycie
Lengths of cable runs also lose signal quality. Satellite cable can be used for normal tv, it has a foil screen tape around the braiding, and gives a good signal. Digital is a nightmare, I couldn't get ITV1 on my digital in my burger van on the Isle of wight for love n'money.
