Hucknall Ram
Think this rules Clough out Nottingham Forest are drawing up a detailed job specification to ensure their next manager is fully aware of his role at the City Ground. Steve McClaren quit as boss on Sunday as he was unhappy with what he perceived to be "changed parameters" about investment in the playing staff. And the club are desperate to avoid any ambiguity for the incoming manager. The new manager is expected to be named before the next league game away at Coventry City on Saturday, 15 October. BBC Radio Nottingham understands that Forest are not in a position to pay compensation to secure their new manager. But the club are open to the possibility of a two-tier management system, with a technical director or director of football working alongside a younger coach. The Reds have already had more than 40 applications but will circulate their job specification before drawing up a shortlist and holding interviews. ramsbottom
Paul Ince has told Teamtalk he'd be interested. Now that would be priceless...
DERP
And massively unlikely that a manager who got failed at Notts County would be appointed.
ramsbottom
I never said it would be likely just extremely funny if it happened. Considering they've stated they can't afford to pay anyone compensation it'll have to be someone currently out of work either Mark Robins or Sean O'Driscol. Asanovic
Please get Paul Ince. I hope he picks up where he left off at Blackburn...
Asanovic
Having said that, his record with small clubs battling relegation is good - look at Macclesfield. What a dilemma!
p.shilton
Just listened to some boring bloke from Nottingham post talking on Talk sport (or is that Talk bollo*ks?) yesterday. Under the headline "Clough ticks all the boxes" for the Forest job- I presume one of the boxes is "hates Forest"? Anyway, goes on to say that he very much doubts it would happen and talks about a few more of the likely/ unlikely candidates. Worth a listen if you have 10 mins to waste. Watching them trying to get promoted again would add to the fun. The play off game that they lost (Yeovil?) is my favourite match of recent history- PRICELESS! p.shilton
Yep, never gets old- Even Forest scoring an offside goal late on can't stop them throwing it all away again. I'd rather have the local game with a guaranteed full house at Pride Park, local bragging rights, the accompanying six points, so this would require them to stay up. Paul Ince - just the man for the job......

Paul Ince - just the man for the job...... Yes I do like this better- it is even funnier! You don't get Red dogs crying at the end of the local Derby regardless of the score. Bragging rights are secure if they are languishing in League one also. A couple of seasons down there would do them the world of good, maybe they'd even enjoy it, it isn't like they are strangers to third division football! StaffsRam
It would be funny for 5 minutes. After that i'd regret the lack of 2 local derbies. I'm quite happy for them to finish 4th bottom.
Redshaw_Ram
If Forest had been relegated a few seasons back, we wouldn't have had 17/09/11. Imagine that? 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> We should be in the same league, competing for the BCT every year.
