Think this rules Clough out

Nottingham Forest are drawing up a detailed job specification to ensure their next manager is fully aware of his role at the City Ground.

Steve McClaren quit as boss on Sunday as he was unhappy with what he perceived to be "changed parameters" about investment in the playing staff.

And the club are desperate to avoid any ambiguity for the incoming manager.

The new manager is expected to be named before the next league game away at Coventry City on Saturday, 15 October.

BBC Radio Nottingham understands that Forest are not in a position to pay compensation to secure their new manager.

But the club are open to the possibility of a two-tier management system, with a technical director or director of football working alongside a younger coach.

The Reds have already had more than 40 applications but will circulate their job specification before drawing up a shortlist and holding interviews.

I never said it would be likely just extremely funny if it happened. Considering they've stated they can't afford to pay anyone compensation it'll have to be someone currently out of work either Mark Robins or Sean O'Driscol. Saying that Peter Reid has just left Plymouth 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Just listened to some boring bloke from Nottingham post talking on Talk sport (or is that Talk bollo*ks?) yesterday. Under the headline "Clough ticks all the boxes" for the Forest job- I presume one of the boxes is "hates Forest"?

Anyway, goes on to say that he very much doubts it would happen and talks about a few more of the likely/ unlikely candidates. Worth a listen if you have 10 mins to waste.

Would miss the local rivalry......especially while they're crap 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I know what you are saying and the six points would come in handy too but I would trade it for the hilarity of them going down for a couple of seasons at least. Watching them trying to get promoted again would add to the fun. The play off game that they lost (Yeovil?) is my favourite match of recent history- PRICELESS! You like this better than The Heroes of the City Ground?

I'd rather have the local game with a guaranteed full house at Pride Park, local bragging rights, the accompanying six points, so this would require them to stay up. Paul Ince - just the man for the job......

Yes I do like this better- it is even funnier! You don't get Red dogs crying at the end of the local Derby regardless of the score. Bragging rights are secure if they are languishing in League one also. A couple of seasons down there would do them the world of good, maybe they'd even enjoy it, it isn't like they are strangers to third division football!

Hilarious.
