Ambitious
SOD has never been able to obtain the points Clough has at this level - Sod highest with 60, and Clough with 64.... so, there!! mozza
None, but this is a Forest thread. disagree,he managed to get Burton into a position of promotion to the football league, (although Roy Mac almost blew it ), and he put together a team of none leaguers to beat Forest twice.. one of those times WE ONLY HAD TEN MEN!!!.. matty1
In all seriousness though I think the managerial appointment at forest nowadays has become largely irrelevant. For so many years the club has been engrained within mediocrity and averageness that it simply cannot escape from it. McClaren came to Forest on a high after rebuilding his reputation in winning the Eredivisie with FC Twente and then promptly lost it all over again at forest. BD had previously taken an average Derby side and got them promoted at the first attempt - he then took on an average forest side and, well, failed to replicate. Cotterill couldn't find his arse with both hands let alone the winning formula to turn forest's fortunes around. O'Driscoll did a decent job at a small club in Doncaster, but in all probabilty will be no different to anything that has gone before him at forest, who will ultimately finish anonymously in lower mid-table. Admittedly this may be similar to us, but then again at least we have experienced promotion from the Championship within the past decade, have reached a league cup semi-final and have recently presided over a league double over the red dogs as well - all of this during a pretty average stage in our club's history. During the same time period forest have been relegated from the Championship and then only just about managed to scramble back up again to our level at the umpteenth attempt......no comparison really. Alph
cloughs achievements are...... Took two ***** nobody football clubs, opened their eyes to greatness and then left them to bicker over who is the least rubbish? Oh, you meant Nigel.
StaffsRam
SoD - sacked with his team well adrift at the foot of the league. Great achievement.

randombc
Darlow, Halford (Moloney 71'), Ayala (Regan 79'), Collins (Lascelles 64'), Harding (Taylor 74'), Moussa (Al-Mutawa 55'), McGugan (Guedioura 55'), Moussi Greening 55'), Reid (Derbyshire 55'), McGoldrick (Majewski 55'), Blackstock (Tudgay 55'). Seemed a pretty strong team, apart from the goalkeeper, who will be replaced with some arabian, i can imagine that being pretty much the
-JW-
Quote from the scum forum, fans calling for Billy to come back already. 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> It's only a pre-season friendly and we're still experimenting and trying to gel but other than Collins looking decent I honestly can't think of any positives in what was an absolutely dire display. Zero shots on or off goal from what I remember. Derbyshire was as bad as ever and Halford is never a right back (slow and uninterested). Anyway I remain positive that O'driscoll will sort it out and we certainly need time to gel but positives tonight, other than Collins? NONE. The idiots behind me shouting for Billy Davies were an absoloute disgrace.
