We are going to watch it this weekend, stage 8 I believe, Belfort - Porrentuy. Going to camp near a tiny village in the middle of the swiss mountains and watch them from there, i have pretty much no knowledge on the sport, but for the past 4 years I have been fortunate to go and watch them on Le Tour, and i have to say, it is one of the most amazing spectator events I have ever been to.

The atmosphere is absolutely electric, it even sounds strange writing this, because I know how ridiculous it must sound, but it really is.

2 years ago we sat in the driving rain for 5 hours waiting for them to come past, and it was increidble.

I would advise anyone who has the time and the opportunity to go to do so......tkae a lot of food.....a few beers....maybe a couple of bottles of nice wine....and you will have a great time.

Just recovering from yesterday, awesome, electric atmosphere, 38 degrees, free beer, Loads of English there cheering on Wiggo. Brilliant. Then to top it all off i got to sit in a bar and watch Roger wipe the floor with whatever his name is. A pefect end to a perfect day.

Not a massive cycling fan, who is better Wiggins or Cavendish??? Both seem to be doing very well for themselves.

Wiggin's is the best long distance. Cavendish is the better short distance. Cavendish is the best sprint cyclist in the world, best at winning individual stages/races. Wiggins will probably win the overall tour this year, and prove the best long distance/endurance cyclist. Really, that'd make Wiggin's the better of the two, but its too hard to say really. Lets just say they're both the best in their fields.

But yeah really, the sport we seem to be best in atm, is the sport not many people care about.
