RamNut
There was no such thing as trick or treat until we got flooded with American tv. I've with Daveo.... Another American tradition is to shoot in the face any unwanted callers. .....................aaah don't be such killjoys.
Alex W
There was no such thing as trick or treat until we got flooded with American tv. All in favour of bringing the actual holiday of Samhain back to modern society? *Raises hand*

Perky1106
Everything I hate about American culture is becoming part of British society now. First the over-commercialisation of Christmas. Then Halloween. Then "school proms". Advert breaks on ITV and Sky that are about ten minutes long. Z-List celebrities and silly reality TV shows that follow their mundane lives. Gun crime and gangsters that control their own 'territories'. And now there's some newspapers/websites that are British and starting to use the word 'soccer'. Please **** off! trigger
got to agree with what you,ve said joe about the yanks, you forgot to mention that mongol show jerry springer, and the fact that they have the worlds worst soldiers.
Hartley Hare
I don't see why it's still going. It's literally now only a commercial thing. I think you've answered your own question there Alex....
Hucknall Ram
We teach kids not to talk to strangers and don't accept sweets off them, however its fine to knock on any Tom, Dick or Harry door and ask for sweets on Halloween?
Day
I'm stocking up on laxatives next year...they won't come knocking at my door again.
StaffsRam
Our policy is that if it's kids and they've made an effort then they can grab some sweets/chocolate etc. However, scroungers are met with the digital camera and a fook off. Any retaliatory action and we've got their photos ready for the police.
Hartley Hare
Careful with that camera, if you take their photo without their permission then you could be in trouble for breaching their human rights. Think I'm joking? My next door neighbour was told this by the bobbies when he said he had photo's of some teenagers actually in the act of vandalising his property. Police couldn't use the pictures because they were taken without permission and told him to destroy them otherwise they may be asked to prosecute him. Not funny at all..... StaffsRam
^^ I think this sums up everything that's wrong with our country, and why the PC brigade should be the first ones up against a wall and shot when the revolution comes! Oh well, will have to retire the camera and break out the shotgun again then.......

Of course I'm not sure what a jury would make of my stick man drawings - I'm definitely a left-brain kind of guy!
StaffsRam
Does the law frown upon the laying down of mantraps? Having said all this, we rarely actually get trick or treaters anyway. We live in an area surrounded by old codgers. Great stuff, they're as quiet as fook, and we can make as much noise as we like and they can't hear us! MrsRam
We didn't get any trick or treaters - (maybe something to do with my Gary Glitter mask ) now left with a bowl full of sweets, oh well. So, Halloweens over, we can sit back and relax of an evening listening to fireworks going off, loud enough to shake the fekin house...
Boycie
Well, the police don't have my permission to take my picture whilst I may or may not speed. All you need is a sign warning of cameras on the front of your house, and you're covered. As long as the sign says who runs the cameras and their telephone number. This is because a house breaker has the legal right to see any film of him breaking into the house. ( he can't remove the evidence though) unless he nicks it on a second house break I suppose? Anyway, as you were.
Hartley Hare
Exactly. If you put a fixed camera up and plaster warning signs all over the outside of your house then you're ok, but if you happen to have your trusty instamatic handy while someone is stealing your car then you'd better think twice before taking that picture.... EdinburghRam
halloween is ridiculous, the mother of all non holidays. How it continues to survive is beyond me

Hartley Hare
Yep, gotta have the signs whether it's a fixed camera or a handheld. But who want's all that signage all over their house? It's all wrong, just don't get me started.....
Perky1106
It is a ridiculous festival but I still went out, covered in fake blood too. Rather do that than stay in on my own because everyone else is out on the piss. It's uni though, won't be doing Halloween again after. Neither will any kids I have. It's silly, dangerous, scrounging and only exists to make a few quid around October time for supermarkets etc.
