Doubt they were from a tin, but they were still doing syrup sponge puddings when I was at school. You're right, elite dessert.

Very good of you to suggest it, but Heinz announced they'd stopped them nearly 10 years ago:

Maybe it's not a Heinz one but I'm sure I saw something of that ilk.
