Currently on bbc2.

It's quite eye opening in a grim way and shows how putins message of combat sports,  patriotism and pride has been adopted by Russian "firms" and hooligan gangs are unashamedly seeing football hooliganism as a means of reasserting Russian masculinity.

The narrative has just reached a group called the Orel Butchers who were at the centre of the violence in marseille.

Absolutely no way would I go anywhere near the next world cup. These guys look seriously scary and are organising themselves with paramilitary style training.

That forest fight thing was a bit weird. In fact as the whole program went on, and the action moved to the younger generations of apprentices it started to resemble the bbg in the early 80s more and more as groups of lads charged each other with flailing fists and soft trainers.

The older more organised gangs looked a different kettle of fish but seemed to be expecting to be rounded up and not be allowed near the venues.

Russia overall looked a bit of a dump and not very welcoming.
