Derby County v Cardiff City - match day thread

Had a day to think about it and the optimist, well armed with suitable excuses and a dose of realism has surfaced I am glad to say.

First off .. We might still make the play offs considering how barmy this league is. Secondly none of us should be under any illusions that we are a special club or team at this moment. We are nothing more than a better than average championship team. We have some skilled players and have some good days. That includes Mac.  Trouble is .. so does everyone else at our level. But this is our team and our club like or not so we have picks and shovels and the job is digging. No point in giving up, blaming an individual or crying in our beer ( and if you do turn away so your mates cant see you please) ..

morale boys and girls. Chins up

Last night ... started well .. nothing wrong for what 35/40 minutes ?

Then two very poor defensive errors. We got rattled and they got their chins up at the same time.

After that the only things fundamentally wrong were:

1) A host of unforced errors .. poor passes ..way, way too many and not as we usually manage. That isn't lack of ability it is lack of concentration and application to the task in hand.

2) The little flicks where the win rate is usually 50/50 just didn't come off at all. Tough luck, nothing more.

3) They were physically strong more eager than us in the second half. There were simply more persistent without the ball. This has happened too often.

Bottom line is .. take 2 bad mistakes out and put 5% more concentration and vigour in to our play and we would have ripped them to pieces. ... That is Macs job to sort out. It can be done.
