sage
Not a scapegoat, just don't think he fits our style of play. I think he's behind Martin. Weimann, Russell and Ince. We may be buying another forward too. He's on a lot of money to be a sub.
Carl Sagan
It's simply brilliant that we have Darren Bent, Spurs' then record transfer and probably Villa's too, playing for us. An England international born to score goals. How far we have come. It's not even a wild punt: he scored 12 goals in 13 starts for us last season (17 appearances including subs). What a remarkable record. And it's hilarious that people are moaning about it.
cosmic
I feel more confident knowing we have the likes of Darren Bent in our squad. To suggest he's not what our squad needs and is some kind of hindrance is frankly ridiculous. Can't think of a better, more seasoned player and prolific striker we could have got on a free. If McClaren had stayed, with his one-and-only style of play and a fit Chris Martin, he might well have become an unnecessary luxury this season. Now, he looks to be a viable alternative in a number of styles and setups. Let's wait and see.
EnigmaRam
I think him and Weimann as a front 2 will be great when we need to change up the formation. Never had that option before so we need this player imo.consider our front line for a minute and what they cost. Bent - free 13 goals in half a season last yearmartin - free 20+ goals last 2 seasonsweimann - 2.5 million have no doubt will get double figures.so for 2.5 million we've got a front 3 that could easily score 40-50+ goals this season. Add in Russell and nice and we are rocking. If this biggie does turn it would still only make our front 4 costing us 10 million. Less than Rhodes will cost
