England v Costa Rica

Shaw looks a great prospect, I've rated Baines for a long time but he was poor this tournament

Jones didn't get forward as much as Johnson but looked SO much better defensively, and although got caught out a couple of times he was quick enough and strong enough to get back and rectify it

Still think it will be Walker at RB for a while, or one of the Liverpool lads.

Jones will be used more in the centre I'd think.

Liverpool should sign a left back, drop Johnson and play Flanagan at right back.

Walker suffers similarly to Johnson, not good enough defensivley

Jenkinson is a right back isnt he?

Most of the fullbacks we have would suit being wingbacks in a 5-3-2

3 at the back with wing backs would be good.

Trouble is finding 3 decent centre backs.

Jones is *****. He needs to choose a position and focus on being better at it.

Oh I agree. Personally I wouldn't play him for England. He'd do well to get out of Man Utd, he seems to have slipped into that "utility" player role.

In the middle I'd start looking at the youngsters and blooding them now. Cahill's solid enough if he has someone decent next to him. I'd be thinking of starting with Stones in there, but I'm sure we won't.

We seem to have good centre backs, but not the greats we used to have in the past

Jagielka, Cahill, Jones and Smalling can all do a job there and is a good mix of experience and youth

Yeah, Jenkinson is a RB. Walker's not perfect but I'd choose him ahead of Johnson or Jones in the Arab position.

Jagielka is just far too pedestrian. Cahill will be nailed on for a starting place going forward but we really need to find someone better to play alongside him. I don't see Jagielka, Jones or Smalling as the solution personally.

Honestly think getting a point is a good result, we are a very poor team by international standards.

We are used to seeing great football in England but the players aren't English.
Even Derby only have three English players in the first 11 and thats the second tier!

I just hope the FA plan isn't still to squeese the football league for a Prem handout.

Didn't even know England were playing...

What a World Cup eh. One point and two goals scored. Marvellous

You didn't miss much.

Costa Rica coasted, we huffed and puffed and looked more likely.

Unfortunately Sturridge looked like he'd been taking first touch/control tips from Sammon and Theo Robinson.

****, my bad. Should really include Martin and Keogh too to be honest ha

I didn't count players of different national teams for England thats all.

They are playing for Scotland and RoI so not in the running for England.
