Guest
Johnny Russell and co can be assessed by the same statistical method used to look at some of our team. Using the percentage of wins and draws achieved with or without them in their club side starting 11. Stats will show who makes a positive contribution and who doesn't. These results will tend to show the effectiveness of an individual. The team will tend to achieve better results when the better players are selected. Obviously results will tend to deteriorate when the better players are absent. With this method, both scenarios receive a measure...i.e. selected / not selected. Individuals making an effective positive contribution are therefore identifiable by comparing the two scores. Non-effective players will tend to have no effect or a negative effect upon results. Difference between the two scores is what matters, not the actual values of the scores Using the results obtained when a player was / was not selected means that the results include a control. Positive impact should be readily apparent. An ever-present player will not have sufficient non-selection data to provide an analysis. Low numbers of appearances or absences will similarly produce results prone to a wider statistical error. But nonetheless the method should produce some interesting and potentially meaningful results. Essentially effectiveness is what is indicated within certain limitations. Results measure the value of the player versus the value of the alternative selections in a given squad. The good players ought to stand out more often than not.....whether the league they play in is relevant to us is another matter. uttoxram75
Stop it. Have a week off and relax. Anyway, you missed out on a couple of stats.... When Jake Buxton goes up for a corner in the last few minutes against Forest they fookin **** themselves. Likewise, when Jake Buxton goes up for a corner in the last few minutes against dirty Leeds they also fookin **** themselves. Fact.

ramsbottom
Jake Buxton once hit his Mother for trying to enter his house wearing a red jacket. She has since been allowed back round for Sunday lunch but she has to wear an old costume of Rammie's to remind her of her idiocy...
