  1. I would also expect that as a businessman, he doesn't fully know the best approach in football terms
  2. the high intensity pressing is really where the similarities end though. Klopp likes the 2 wide players to move in with the forward dropping deep to link play. Warne wants wide players to stay wide and cross to a target man up front. Klopp likes to control games with the ball, warne is fine with not having it. We also saw over the summer with all his signings, that warne's prefered system is having 3 CB's and wing backs, very different to Klopp's approach.
  3. of course it's better than being dead, but as you said yourself, we did. It's in the past, we should be looking forward now. How do we be successful from now onwards?
  4. but you have to have plans in place for long term success. Worrying about it when we get there will be too late, should be building towards it now
  5. which is exactly where this squad of players should be anyway Are you happy getting a lucky 0-0 draw against lincoln, nicking a last min winner v burton albion, being outplayed by peterborough at pride park, being knocked out cups by crewe and bradford ? I know i have a glass half empty view on things, can't help it😅, but i just don't see how we will survive in the championship playing this brand of football.
  6. your aware we have a far superior squad and training facilities to those 12 most recent teams...
  7. Yes I'm sure McGoldrick, Hourihane, Jagielka, Mendez-Laing, etc etc all signed because of the huge wages we were offering...
  8. 2 was my honest assessment of his performance. Nobody has been able to answer what he actually contributed outside of one header...
  9. so goals vs xg for pens/tap ins he is underperforming then. i'm sorry, but having an xg of 0.21 per 90 mins for the season as a striker is pathetic. Especially playing for one of, if not the best side in the league. If you take away the pens, he is considerably worse for xg than Waghorn, Washington, and John-Jules aswell.
  10. stats will of course say that though as he's had 4 pens which are 0.8xg chances and the tap in rebound from the pen 0.95xg
  11. 4 pens actually as he missed one and tapped in the rebound so slightly worse than one in 3 games, and considering we have arguably the best squad in the league creating chances for him, it's actually not that great
  12. 4 of those have been pens though, and 5 have come in the pizza cup (2 v a weakened fleetwood side and a hat trick against a bunch of kids from wolves) It's only 8 goals in about 30 games outside of that.
  13. Apart from 1 header, what did he actually contribute? Seemed to just miss hit shots, misplace passes, struggle to control the ball, constantly offside, and just generally slow down / take all momentum out of the attacks
  14. 31Vickers - 4 2Wilson - 7 35Nelson - 7 6Cashin - 8 20Elder - 3 17Sibley - 5 11Méndez-Laing - 6 8Bird - 8 4Hourihane - 6 7Barkhuizen - 6 5Bradley - 5 19John-Jules - 6 16Thompson - 5 9Collins - 2
  15. what about when they were in the play offs before they sacked john eustace then?
