Bristol City (H) - Match Thread

well if your saying "many people thought we'd lose comfortably" that kind of implies more than half😅 Why would it not be judged on recent performances? It would be completely logical to judge it on that, its called form. Yeah we'd won 7 in a row beforehand, but that counts for very little as it was in a different competition. If we beat cardiff 4-0, i'm pretty sure we would not go into sheff utd being heavily unfancied. They've not even had that good a start to the season. -

im happy to admit the numbers were slightly off, even though i wasnt the one who originally said it. Are you willing to admit you took my quote out of context? -

What ? You started this. Why is it awkward? I was just reaffirming a point someone else made that also happens to be true. Is it awkward in the sense that you've made a mistake and now dont want to apologise for it ? -

🤣taken completely out of context. I was replying to a previous poster who said the majority of fans predicted a comfortable loss. -

But the reason so many expected us to lose both games so comfortably was because of the performances up to then -

Difficult for me to comment too much on the performance as i also couldnt make it to this game. However, having watched the full highlights back, i have to say, finally i was impressed. Results to one side, its the first time in around 18 months i've actually enjoyed the performance from the team. There seemed to be much more about us than the usual crossing it in over and over. Bristol City had some chances, and we needed a few big saves from Zetterstrom. 21 attempts on goal today is probably as many as we've had all season, so nice to see us having a go for a change. Amazing really how we can go from being knocked out by Barrow 4 days ago, to a performance like that. If warne can keep improving like this he may well win my support back, but i'll use a phrase you've often said over the last 12-18 months, lets not overreact to one game. -
have you seen him play? he's a perfect paul warne signing. Not very good with his feet, but brilliant in the air.
-
yes.
-
because every time its brought up to have a discussion, theres a small handful of people that for some reason instantly try to shut it down by insulting people
-
exactly, nobody know's what we are. Whats our identity?
-
it doesnt matter how exaggerated it is though, the point is there is such a thing as a bad one
-
difference is theres 3 divisions between them, we are in the same league as boro
-
it was a hypothetical question so irrelevant if warne has done it before. you said in a previous post you thought there was no such thing as a bad style/approach, was just trying to prove to you there is
-
i meant in general, they know what their team is
-
so hypothetically, if a manager set us up with only one defender in a 1-0-9 formation, would you say thats a bad style/approach ?
-
your perfectly placed to answer that, your a DCFC fan who watches every game. Ask all fans up and down the country how their club play football and they know.
-
what do you enjoy about the style? I agree it was slow build up under Cocu & Rosenior's very limited time in charge. However, it's not just posession for posession's sake. If you have the ball, you mostly dictate how the game will go. There is a huge caveat when comparing those managers though. Warne is the only one to have managed a top team in a lesser league. The others had mid to low end table teams in a tougher league. i agree with you on set pieces, but if it's at the expense of the actual gameplay, i'd rather go back to what we had before.
-
whats your excuse for that then? you didnt actually answer

collins is our first choice pen taker, but has missed 32% of his career penalties
