  1. Someone used the word star, others have said amazing. It's kind of the same thing. Your argument doesn't really make sense because obviously if collins wasn't taking pens, someone else would instead.
  2. wilson is too attacking and not solid enough defensively to be classed as a standard RB. best position is either winger or wing back in my opinion
  3. So you agree that he's been far from our 'star' player then like many on here believe ?
  4. how is that absolute rubbish? It's a fact that taking penalties inflates your performance stats, not just the goal tally. It's also a fact he is 54th in the shooting stats for league one players. I am talking about the season as a whole, up until last week or so we still had other forwards fit. John-Jules, Washington, & Waghorn all have better np data for most metrics this season (also a fact)
  5. what i was trying to get at in the first place is that we shouldn't use penalties to judge players overall performances. Certain people have been saying things like 'how amazing collins has been this season, and he's been our star player because look how many goals he's got'. If you put the penalties to one side (because it's a fact they boost all your performance related stats), he has 9 league goals. The earlier table showed he was about 54th in the league for shooting stats. Are people really saying thats our star player? Just off the top of my heaad, I think we would miss Nelson, Cashin, Forsyth, Bird, NML, Wilson, Nyambe, Hourihane, more than we would miss Collins.
  6. the point is, they will have earned that by moving / being in the right position at the right time. Not just being handed a free shot from the spot.
  7. but the point is whoever is taking the pen, is being given a free shot on goal, with a high probability of scoring, that they otherwise wouldn't have had.
  8. 18 goals. At least 3 of them were playing against kids in the pizza cup. 13 in the league, 4 were from pens , so 9 non pen goals really in 29 games. That barely just gets him in the top 10 scoring chart. If you had really read the stats then you would see that if anything they don't back up what your saying, they make him look even worse. His fitness, durability, and availability are all kind of the same thing. So your saying he's good because he's always able to play? Have you ever wondered why me and others are criticising him? If he was really doing that well why would anyone need to defend him? I have strongly defended some of our players and managers in the past, but Collins and even more so Warne are just not right for our club.
  9. This same old nonsense attempt at defending him again. Fine, take away Rhodes' 3 pens he's still on 12 goals. Take away May's 4 pens he's still on 12. They are both still clearly ahead of Collins and both are playing in worse teams than Collins is. So if Bird was on pens and it boosted his numbers up, all the fans saying he's sh*** because he doesn't get enough goals would suddenly stop?
  10. why judge bird on how many goals he's scored? He has spent nearly all his career as a CDM
  11. well whoever is given pens will have their numbers boosted
  12. taking away penalties, he has 9 league goals in 29 games. Worse than 1 in 3. What exactly makes him a 'star' this season?
  13. but he only played 18 games for them that whole season, mainly as a wing back. You think warne has got the best out of him? so you don't think he could ever be better than he is right now? name a club in league one that has a better squad than ours then... The reason we are in the chasing pack is not completely relevant to how good the squad is. Did Leicester have the best squad the year they won the premier league? Did Chelsea have a bad squad because they spent over 1 billion and finished about 14th last season?
  14. so you agree but at the same time don't want us to be better
  15. surely you know by now, wide players only have one job in this team, cross.
  16. your happy playing this way and being in league one then are you?
  17. yes, it was somewhat fortunate though, we should have conceded at least 4 or 5. If the tactics were in place that our players were comfortable on the ball, they wouldnt panic as much and make anywhere near as many defensive lapses. Adding more players to the squad isn't going to change the gameplan or how play. No, as warne only seems to have one way of playing. Evidence being his entire managerial career up till now. again no. Same reason as previous answer Trying to change the way we play when we're already in the championship is too late. We should be working towards that now.
  18. i'll be honest, i don't think warne would have even been in a position to talk to NML about signing for derby in the first place
