  1. League of Ireland has nearly finished their season, so wouldn't be surprised if we dip into there especially given Thomas' signings at Oxford.
  2. Not sure, Newcastle have had a Cat 1 academy since 2014.
  3. I think to say Osula is incredibly harsh. 5 goals and 1 assist in 6 starts. In all competitions for us, he scored 0.65 goals per 90.
  4. Please find me where I said that? If he doesn't want to sign a striker for money, that's his prerogative and I have no issue with us only going for free agents/cheap players as long as they're scouted well, there's decent value in certain leagues.
  5. I think one of the major things he's got wrong so far is keeping Pearce as CEO, there's absolutely no way he should be anywhere near the club and should have been the first casualty of administration. Regarding Warne, personally, I think he got that wrong and I said that at the time it was a huge mistake to get rid of Rosenior, because I liked Rosenior's style and personality but knew I wouldn't like Warne's style. But I know that's mainly opinion based. Off the pitch/non-footballing matters he's got mostly bang on, what he's doing regarding stadium upkeep and community work is superb.
  6. Oh hi how are you, there's me on that screenshot. That's me. I'll be forever grateful to Clowes for saving the club, don't get me wrong, but that doesn't mean he is immune to criticism. That's exactly how you get problems we had under Mel. If we want to avoid Mel Mk II, we need to be looking at decisions Clowes makes and holding him accountable if necessary otherwise we could find ourselves in the same situation. I thought older fans would hold this view more than the younger fans as they've experienced the other bad owners.
  7. But in hindsight, surely Cocu did a superb job. He got us 10th with a poor squad, whist being constantly undermined by Morris and Rooney, bought through youth properly and introduced Bird, Sibley and Knight into the squad. That second season was absolutely no chance his fault, Rooney was hugely overweight and clearly Cocu was being forced to play him.
  8. We were 7th after his last game but a few teams played on more game than us before Rosenior left. People go on about the away form, yet it was a complete anomaly. We had over 5 xG and hadn't scored a goal. It would have reverted to the mean and the results would've been fine, also Warne's first away games were Cambridge and Accrington, two easy games. Technically the only comparison we can make on those two's away games last season is Mansfield away, which Rosenior won and Warne didn't, both were cup games. The performances were good (only poor one was Lincoln) and certainly better than Warne's. We also played none of the poor teams, which is where Warne got his best results.
  9. If it is true and not just the old "dreaded vote of confidence" then it is shambolic and makes me question Clowes' ability as a football owner and makes me even more enraged at Pearce. We're going absolutely nowhere as a club and will be a League 2 club sooner than a Championship club.
  10. He was heavily linked with Reading and very close to being appointed, Reading are in a much worse state than us. To say it is a ridiculous shout is ridiculous in itself.
  11. This would be some signing.

    Omari Kellyman

Villa fans are waxing lyrical about him after he starred vs Newcastle yesterday, Emery praising him calling him brilliant. His shot saved onto the post set up their third goal too. One that you could tell was genuinely gutted to be leaving during the dark period for our club. If they plan on loaning him out, I'd want him as the 10 we are looking for, incredible talent. https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/aston-villa-newcastle-mcginn-tonali-27379229
  13. FC Lausanne-Sport interested in Archie Brown, who "was offered a contract by Derby County, but is still reluctant to sign it" https://www.sport.ch/fc-lausanne-sport/793733/lausanne-sport-plant-zwei-transfers-fuer-die-abwehr
