  1. Wildsmith was dropped because of his form in his last couple of games. You'd have very different results if you compared the two keepers stats from their last two league games. Thought Vickers would probably just come in for one game to give Wildsmith a kick up the backside. Remind him his standards can't drop. Haven't seen anything from Vickers to suggest he is a better bet than Joe so think it would be harsh if Vickers keeps his place.
  2. A lot of posters on here seem to expect us to have a squad filled with excellent League One players. The likes of Bradley, Ward and Elder whose careers indicate they are clearly decent L1 standard aren't good enough for them.
  3. Please don't bring balance and common sense into the debate. It's all about knee-jerk reactions, ignoring the whole picture and just focussing on the things that can allow us to be miserable and wallow in self-pity.
  4. I'll admit that few of the incomings have made a huge impact on the starting 11. Less than hoped for sure. A few have had injury issues though so it's a bit early to be writing them off in my opinion. The squad is definitely improved, more options, more depth and our league position reflects that. If we tail off like we did last year and miss out on top 6 I will be agreeing with you that we're no better but I honestly can't see that happening.
  5. I'd argue all the incomings offer more than Springett, White, Davies, Stearman and Chester gave us last season. For all the tedious moaning about Bradley would people rather have Stearman as back up to Cashin and Nelson? Think not.
  6. You say "similar path each time" but then only reference last January (which everyone would admit was disappointing) conveniently overlooking the summer window just gone where we brought in 10+ players who have clearly improved us. It's easy to be disappointed when you twist everything into the most negative outlook possible.
  7. He says "two are close but there are no guarantees". If you choose not to hear that then that's your problem.
  8. He pretty much says this every time he is asked about transfers. Goes out of his way to say there are no guarantees etc.
  9. Warne has made it pretty clear that he doesn't rate the lad. Doesn't appear that Rochdale do either so not sure why people think it would be a good idea to throw him into our 1st team.
  10. I'm in there too. Bit annoyed as see they have just started to sell more tickets for behind the goal where I would have much rather been.
  11. So many people happy to write off players after no more than a handful of games and in some cases a half season that has been disrupted by injury and no significant run in the team. Sort of mentality that saw Salah and DeBruyne moved on from Chelsea cos they weren't fantastic from day one. Same people that saw JJ or Fornah do one good thing in their first 20 minutes of football for us and said they were going to rip it up in this league for us. 🙄
  12. We need to find a league one defender that never makes any mistakes. It's as simple as that. 🙄 Would imagine it will because we just don't look as comfortable as a 3.
  13. Should've stuck with the back 4 that let in 5 on the last two games. Not in the slightest bit calamitous for the Boro winner either. 🙄
  14. Indeed. By people who think they are better fans for not being critical of the manager or who seem to take personal offence over said criticism. Strange behaviour for adults either way.
  15. I think it's just the desire to boot the ball as far away from his goal as possible. Never understand why we do this. Just play it to the defenders, play it round the back, keep possession and if we have to go back to Wildsmith to launch it at least we have run the clock down a little. It's the same result but has taken a few more seconds off the clock. Thought without the ability to bring Bradley on yesterday we might not sit back so much and invite Boro onto us but it made no difference and cost us points yet again.
  16. Be interesting to see Mason-Clark up against Nyambe. Glad Nyambe is still here for this one. Could be a good dual.
  17. I get a bit bored with all the Bradley comments. My missus says "watch out" every time he comes on FFS. We're in League One. He made a mistake in his first game for us and made a nervous start after that. Did people expect us to sign players that never make mistakes? We're incredibly lucky to have the back four that we do, at least two of them are too good for this level. But even they make mistakes. We conceded two goals in the first 15 minutes yesterday. Were none of our defenders at fault at all for either goal? It's always Bradley that's on the receiving end of the negativity though. I don't see it. He hasn't done anything wrong for some time now.
  18. We scored from one of Wards crosses on Thursday.
