I'm genuinely curious to hear any arguments for keeping Warne beyond "Clowes doesn't want to pay the money to sack him".

I won't argue against any points raised, I just want to hear any sort of defense/reasoning for keeping him.

    There aren’t any.

Or the same number of players, but on less wages. More Wilsons and Fornahs... fewer Bradleys and Elders?

Whilst Warne keeps saying we didn't sign anyone for a fee in the summer, Wilson, Fornah and Washington all joined for *undisclosed*. It was inferred that they will cost us if we win promotion and/or sell them on.

Not a fee to another club but a bigger signing on fee for themselves.

Would be happy with any of Eustace, McClaren, Wilder, Rowett, Warnock. All very different, but doesn't matter as Warne isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Hopefully we’ll all get a decent Christmas present, even better an early one.

  4. Yes it is Morris’s fault we can only shop for bargain basement players .Appointing Warne means we will only ever be a mirror image of his Rotherham teams which in all honesty were crap.Does Warne’s coaching team inspire anyone ? (It doesn’t me ).Mr Clowes decision to save us was wonderful but his second one to appoint Warne was a mistake.

You've said it and other people have said it and the more it gets trotted out the more I just can't accept what a blinkered narrow minded view it is - why not for a moment open your horizons to the fact that Warne will be given at least a couple of transfer windows to recruit the players HE wants so it doesn't mean a rat's ass what players were at the club when he first joined FGS it's irrelevant ?

What's so hard about that to accept?

The problem being ,we are run by the EFL for three years .Will Warne be allowed to “get who he wants”. Will the EFL make sure we are in League 1 (or worse) for three years? Probably I would say.

Who is "cancelling their contract"? The only players we've recruited who was under contract was Collins, but Cardiff allowed him to go on a free rather than anyone buying him out of his contract.

We'll be capped at about £750k-1m. Realistically, it'll be less. Only two clubs paid more that Wigan's £355k last season.

£750k-1m each or for all ten we have already signed ? Doesn’t seem much to each individual to me.

Normally you would be correct but under our agreed buisness plan there are restrictions on agents fees and signing fees

Yes there are but the players will still be getting a fee .Capped I agree but they will not be coming for nothing.

  8. None of our signings are FREE!! Instead of paying another club for them we are paying each player a personal signing on fee, enough in some cases to cover the cost of them cancelling their contacts with their current clubs.FREE my @£&e.Surely we have seen in the last nine months that players and their agents get their money!! being football creditors.

I can see Billy Davies coming back as manage..  Billy Davies has been out of work for a long time.  Billy Davies has always done a good job at getting sides promoted, whilst Billy Davies would be a lot cheaper.  Billy Davies' "evening proclivities" should not distract from what Billy Davies can do as a manager.

Be careful what you wish for ??

Depends what "finders fee" he can achieve.

Sorry,  just my cynical head. I just have the feeling that there are too many vultures hanging around now looking how they can benefit themselves from a dire situation.

Any football club (not just dcfc) will only attract “vultures”.The modern name is “entrepreneur” but vulture is nearer the mark, from the very beginning it’s been “how little can we buy them for”.The days of Jack Walker,Lionel Pickering and Sir Jack Hayward are long gone.
