  1. Seemed a relatively close quali (definitely more so than last year) I think there is a chance this year of seeing some different race winners.
  2. Very very optimistic about that new Merc. It looks competitive.
  3. @Archied you laugh reacted, what do you disagree with there? Retconning the job a manager did here based on what he did elsewhere isn't really sensible is it?
  4. I actually agree with that, however I don't believe in retrospectively claiming he did a bad job at Derby based on him being a poor manager elsewhere (not what you did, but others).
  5. His time at Birmingham has no impact on the job he did here though, or the football he played here.
  6. It's so frustrating when people suggest that if we played decent football we'd be lower down the division. There is nothing in that. Teams have gotten out of league one playing decent football. If we played decent football and integrated youngsters people could see direction. We currently don't have clear direction. We'd likely be in a better position had Clowes just given Rosenior the chance from the beginning. Rooney's football was of a better standard than the current football, in spite of the more difficult situation he was in.
  7. So because we've had bad sides before, we should continue to accept that we aren't able to be entertained moving forwards in perpetuity? Let's all be real here, going from when we were relegated back to the Championship until now, we've had very few managers who have played a worse style than Warne. Clough at least played youth and built a solid core, Rowett had a lot more tactical nous than Warne, and Rooney's football was a lot more compelling. So to counteract your claim that this is not an oddity, I would argue that this is exceptionally poor football.
  8. It's not point scoring (much like the football last night). It's a lot easier when you're sat at home to just write it off as a poor performance and move on, when fans go regularly and spend their money to sit in the cold to watch the crap served up, they aren't going to do that.
  9. It's easy to criticise fans and say they should just put up with the turgid football served when you don't actually attend the games.
  10. Yes, we were terrible tonight. We were absolutely dire for 60 minutes. Nobody is asking for total football, but we're getting the worst brand of football I've seen at Derby. It's crap. There is no entertainment. We aren't bringing through youth, we are building towards a style and getting better, we're all over the place. Being second is not a compliment to Warne, and more a criticism to every other side. We're not a good team.
  11. How frustrating is it when Wildsmith catches the ball and just holds it for 30 seconds and then hoofs it long. Bowl it out quickly, get the play moving. It's so slow and ponderous. Charlton in the first half were absolutely dreadful, and yet we created nothing. It can't go on like this. We haven't played well in months, we've just been going through the motions and scraping past poor sides. I'm fed up. Call me entitled, we deserve and should ask for better.
  12. It won't happen, and probably shouldn't as we're near the top of league, but we're rubbish. We're a slightly less rubbish side in a rubbish division, and I'd happily see Warne go. I can't stand the football, it's dreadful.
  13. Wildsmith isn't good enough. He's cost us a lot of points from those this season.
  14. Thanks for that, would have been disappointed if I had missed it, hadn't seen that it was moved.
  15. Correct. His remit is to get us up. He would have had two goes at it.
  16. If we don't get promoted, Warne should go. Can't really see any justification as to why we would keep him on in that instance.
  17. Biggest game of the season so far today. I'd take a point now if offered, I still have the collapse after Barnsley last year in the back of my mind.
  18. I'm kind of hoping that with DRS being enabled earlier, if the second place runner can maintain within a second of Max early on, they might be able to stick to him a little more easily with the tow that it'll give. Merc, Ferrari and Mclaren are certainly where my interest is this season. They were all close last year, Ferrari and Merc look to have made good steps forward, can't tell for sure mind. After a fairly poor season last year, we need something to look forward to. I don't mind which of the three teams, if one can fight Redbull I'll be delighted.
  19. Very interesting - looks like Merc have built a car that they can alter the suspension on much more than typically is possible.
  20. I'm certainly hoping that Merc and Ferrari are a little bit closer than the sims. Fingers crossed next weekend we'll get a pleasant surprise and it'll be a good battle. Impossible to tell what it real and what is made up at this stage though.
  21. Bit of a nothing story this. Their tax expense is low as they claimed tax relief against losses made elsewhere in the group. Meh.
  22. There were faster laps in testing last year (later days, faster than day 1 like you said), and in qualifying trim it's a couple seconds of last year, factoring in all cars will be quicker, I think it's too early to say. RBR will be quick undoubtedly, but their laps on the soft tire with potentially different fuel loads and engine modes than Mercs make it difficult to draw conclusions. I'm potentially deluding myself with pre-season optimism!
  23. This is a little embarrassing. Madley does not have a bias against us, and is a decent ref. Better than the usual ones we get in league one. Let's not become conspiracy theorists.
