  1. I have no idea why; as @Comrade 86 said, never in doubt, what’s wrong with man ( 73 page refreshes in the last 60 seconds later 🤣)
  2. Has quality written right through him. Delighted he is staying. One of the few, like Bird, who sees two passes ahead.
  3. So so true. We are a goal for nothing if we back the lads
  4. Is the game live on Rams TV ? Think I need to treat myself. Need something extra to go with the pickled onions, cheese, meat sandwiches and 3 points.
  5. What were you doing for the other 11 ? Glory hunting and reading the Eagle annual I bet. Looks like back then it was Arsenal, Wolves, Preston North End or West Brom 🤣 seriously though, it’s a special thing having your football team for so long. I sit next to a guy, who next year will renew his season ticket for the 60’th year in succession. merry Christmas to everyone may the new year bring a wholesome abundance of bags filled with 3 points. (And health happiness and goodwill ) May Louis Sibley fulfill his potential, may JC (aka Collo) rage against the dieing light and score many a goal, may Mr Shoulders (aka NML) burn turf and skin many a full back and young Wilson become the game changer that I think might just be lurking in his DNA and Curtis the second weather every storm. That Cash doesn’t go (except for a lot of Cash) and Bird gives themthe bird and Rams us to the top.
  6. Ward is dangerous (at both ends of the pitch )
  7. Are you sure he wasn’t a Man United fan ?
  8. I kind of agree but Ipswich were extra special last year. Easily the most accomplished team to come to PP. In a way I didn’t mind losing to them that much. There was no luck, no bad ref, and we played pretty well. They were just better. It’s a great example to follow and a good window will help.
  9. I think we also need to add in the variables of our competitors ? Will they keep going or will they have drops in form and results. the recent run has been interesting, particularly the last two games. We got 4 points from a possible 6 but played distinctly below our best. Injury free is bound to help but finding the recipe for our own consistency of individual performance is key I think we are doing most things “ok” . Personally I’d like to see a bit more through the middle; but it’s the misplaced passes, unforced errors of all types and the willingness / vision to pass and move at pace that will be the deciding factors.
  10. In a sense it was a generic game. Opposition well organised, coached to stop us getting a quick start, which succeeded until the goal which was down to some skill from Hourihan and deft guts (does that exist as a description ) from Collins. Their ballon burst and we were in the ascendency until Wardy panicked and did it again ! .. They got a lift which carried them into the second half but as with the first they had no teeth, no goal threat. Then with Wilson’s impetus and Sibley making people move out of position with his energy, Bingo. The lack of that real threat just says to me that you can organise as well as you like but there are only 3 things that can happen. 1) You stifle a game to stale mate 2) Your opponent makes mistake so you get something almost for nothing 3) Your opponent beats your “organisation” and you don’t have the assets to hit back The thing is with all 3 is the passivity .. mind you Greece won the Euros doing just that. We took our time and made a mistake but had enough to pull through. Thought Lincoln were the most copy book side I have seen in a while .. it was like watching a CGI training video. 5 at the back without the ball moving to 3 in possession .. they were all in neat straight lines so often it was a bit bizarre. This why fancy dans will always have a place in the game. I loved the goals but it wasn’t that enjoyable. Warne is right we are too static and slow especially when at least half our team have the skills to be better than they are showing in games like Wycombe and this one.
  11. That was a typo 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 all our players are paragons of virtue and sportsmanship, of course ! Chris Martin used to irritate me falling over, Jamie Ward made me laugh because whenever he fouled someone he looked at the ref like an innocent choirboy.
  12. He was VERY annoying wasn’t he ! 🤣 it’s a weird thing about going to live games. There’s always one particular knob on each team that stands out. He was last nights for me too 👍
  13. Merry Christmas to you too. We both went to the same game last night. Great succinct report IMO. I still think we could step it up if we could just do a bit more one touch stuff, there are good enough ball players in this team to at least have a stab at it. Fornah is work in progress, he’s got a lot of skill if we could find a way to use it, which we didn’t last night.
  14. Oh yes you can because they are all younger players with time to develop. For the record, Sibley added some much needed drive and pace tonight but still decided to go for glory when he had options on either side of him. Fornah has a superior touch and ball skills. I think could be an interesting player if he develops well. Sibley had great energy. The comparisons are useful. Comparisons with an old established player at the end of his career can only be valid if you’re talking about a specific game/performance, or just your own personal favourite.
  15. What ! .. Collins ! he ran himself in to the ground leading the line, harrying, provided, assisted linked and scored. yes, Cash and Nelson were brilliant. The team played the ball to slowly, it wasn’t a great game, we started slow but we’re in contrail after the goal, only to let them back in. How many saves did our keeper have to make ? = 1 ? Lincoln weren’t dangerous but they were very well organised kept a shape really well (something we helped by so pedestrian at times )

    Bart Cybulski

Warne’s from down there, be funny if we sign him back one day. I kinda of liked the cut of his jib. Got in great positions, read the game well but the killer and gloss finish wasn’t quite there
  17. I think that says it all. I’m baffled that you don’t see that. This whole conversation (from my pov) is about potential versus performance Barks is not going to improve because of his age. He is what he is. Sibs on the basis of his early promise should be improving but doesn’t seem to be. Why ? You and Roy think it’s game time, misuse, and general unfairness. I don’t know what it is, but it’s not anything to do any of the things you guys think. He just doesn’t look special, when a couple of years ago he looked to be healthy root stock who was going to produce seriously good fruit
  18. It’s a daft comparison because you are not comparing like for like Barks is a player in the latter stages of his career. He is a known quantity Sibs is a young player, who at this point in his development hasn’t improved on his early potential. Early on he looked like he was going to grow to be a serious contender to be a star player. He has stalled. Why I am not sure but it isn’t lack of opportunity. If you’re special it’s going to show wherever you are playing, in touch, vision, passing and a load of other things. It’s a lot more than goals or winning headers. Lawrence was also a mature player and the 1:12 game thing you suggest, is inaccurate. He did blow hot and cold but teams feared what he might do (because he could) and then attempted to adjust At the moment that isn’t happening for Sibs. I hope it does, tonight or the next game. The minute he steps on the pitch I am right behind him but objective comments always get met in some quarters by complete denial or “it’s not fair”
  19. Ok I am biting 🤣 Tom is a player in the autumn of his career. His abilities are known and in decline. It’s a daft comparison. Tom Lawrence was inconsistent but had enough good games to attract interest from many places and displayed a recognisable skill level for a mature player. Again a poor example. This game time malarkey doesn’t hold water. Again though, I am not anti Sibs. I want him to succeed, he has shown at times, special attributes but he has had more than enough game time for those to develop. He’s behind the curve that you would expect. Mind you, maybe he’s peaked ? maybe another coach will unlock him - but he has had a fair few ? maybe a different playing system would help ? I really don’t know but it isn’t game time or opportunity he’s had plenty. Wilson is wild and makes bad final decisions sometimes, but is way more scary to any opponent at the moment.
  20. It’s so frustrating though isn’t it. He is such a committed player with the ball. He’s got something but as you say, maybe it’s coaching that could bring it out. That said he has had various influences over time. When he scored that hat trick I thought we’d unearthed a gem. There have been other flashes of real skill but they are too infrequent given the game time he has had. Every time he’s in the team I am hoping that “todays the day” but it never seems to happen. He still a useful player but in reality I don’t think other teams say “oh no Sibley’s playing, watch out for him”
  21. Hey he got the ball in the middle. If you are a great player you make yourself fit the system. Birdy is great and in thinking terms a decimal point better than man of our journey but why should he move away ? He’s good but not Prem good yet.
  22. I didn’t ask about Sibley though did I ? .. you moan constantly about the opportunities Sibley has been denied, how it’s unfair, how he doesn’t get a run in the team or how he’s played out of position .. blah blah blah. Funny thing is he’s had a lot of minutes on the pitch though hasn’t he ? And yes there have been a few good performances but you don’t have the grace to admit he isn’t setting the world on fire and at the same time pour scorn on another lad who’s barely had a chance. Double standards and bang offside. Yet apply the same standards to another player who has had little opportunity anywhere and your response is meh, he runs around a lot. Soz Roy, you’re unjust and wrong
  23. Roy, to use your own argument .. has Fornah had a run in the team ? Has Fornah got a preferred position and has he been picked for it ? Sorry mate but Sibs doesn’t show enough. He is a good player, he has abilities, I am crying out for him to succeed. He’s one of ours ! He has had a couple or three blindingly good performances but with the ball or off it he just doesn’t set the pulse racing with any consistency. He has had plenty of chances. He is a good player, I am more than happy if he’s in the team but he is never going to be a messiah, a premier league player, an awesome game changer. Purple patches, a few great games no doubt. I will support and cheer him all the way but I think you’re a bit fixated on this one.
  24. I don’t know about Sibs and don’t want to recycle old arguments. I keep hoping he’ll turn in to a DCFC Paul Scholes. He has stuff in his locker but for whatever reason it doesn’t come out often enough, yet whenever Fornah comes on we look more dangerous and incisive in the midfield - things happen.
