BJ saunders is so funny hahaha, my favourite fighter in that division

I used to like the guy, but now I feel he's trying to cause controversy when there is no need. His comments on Canelo and GGG are laughable and come across as quite smug.

Despite being a world champion, I'm yet to see a proper decent performance from him to suggest he'd trouble any of the top names at middleweight. He talks like he's cleaned out the lot.

He says he would beat Canelo. Not a chance. His resume is really poor for an undefeated fighter too. Eubank Jr and Andy Lee are his best wins - who are these? Yeh they're well-known in Britian, but not on a global scale.

BJS needs to fight some big names. Cotto, Trout, Kirkland, Lara, Canelo, GGG, Lemieux. I know the middleweight division isn't exactly loaded with superfights, but come on...

There was always going to come a point where Khan stopped getting in and out quick enough.  He executed perfectly the first 3 rounds. But in the 4th Canelo began to hold more. Less knockout blows and more measured brawl.

Whether it be tiredness or over confidence there was always going to come a time when he stuck around too long.

Khan needs either a steel chin or real power to go with his speed. Think winning the first 4 rounds looked good but 12 rounds of getting in and out... It would have to be the greatest performance ever.

The thing is, the punches from the likes of Canelo and Danny Garcia would knock down almost all boxers within their respective weight classes. I honestly thought Khan was improving loads defensively, but he just left himself wide open. If that wasn't Canelo, it would have been a Thurman or Brook who equally throw hard straight rights.

I think Khan is one of the most technically gifted fighters in terms of speed and movement, but he is far too vulnerable to those big punches and he gets caught far too often.

It makes fights brilliant by the way. You just know one punch can end it.

But there is clearly a natural flaw in his game and it's not his chin. Those punches would drop anyone, so nobody can say that it's his chin which is causing him problems.

Before he got dropped because he was countered after throwing too many punches at one time. Now he gets dropped for simply staying in the pocket that slight split-second too long.

Without changing his style, I'm stumped as to how he can avoid those punches. Maybe it's simply down to concentration, but Canelo has never hit anybody in his career like that.

Canelo easily beats Khan(brutal KO in the 6th round).Just the far superior boxer from the opening bell.

You thought so? I had Khan winning the first four rounds, and he was boxing brilliantly considering he had no power to hurt Canelo so was forever on the move. His footwork was brilliant at the start.

The you noticed in round five Canelo was finding his range, and Khan was slowing down.

I thought at that moment Canelo would pin him on the ropes and hurt him in the seventh or eighth, causing a stoppage. Didn't see that one punch coming, it was devastating.

Khan, and boxing, needs to look at this and take a think about safety. The difference in power between the two was just ridiculous and luckily it seems Khan is OK, could have been far worse.

They shouldn't allow fighters to jump up two weights like that. It's OK jumping from Batamweight to Feather or even Light, but from Welter to a 170lb middleweight is insane.

  4. Khan is a much better fighter under Vurgil Hunter. He's not stupid anymore and stands throwing six or seven punch combos. He's a three-punch combo fighter now, quickly in and out.

Canelo struggled against Floyd, but he's still incredibly young so he's progressing all the time. Despite being a power-punch hitter, Canelo doesn't have a great knockout record of late.

I think Khan can win on points, if he plays it smart. But I'm a bit miffed at why he has gone up. There are so many good 147 match-ups out there, the promoters need to pull their finger out.

Brook's resume is shocking for a champion. Porter aside, he hasn't fought another top 20 at 147.

I think Porter vs Thurman is the best match up for this year. Reckon it'll be brilliant.

  5. Charles Martin hasn't defeated anyone of note, but then again neither has AJ. While AJ looks like a world class boxer, it's hard to really say until he's been in with guys who are going to give him a good fight.

I reckon AJ will win by knockout. I don't get the hype regarding Martin. They say he's an awkward southpaw like that gives him some sort of extra advantage. He looks slow and clumbsy.

What happened to Povetkin, Wach, Pulev...? Feel these guys lost one fight against Wlad and then disappeared. Surely they would have given AJ a better test than the puddings put in-front of him previously.

  6. Batman vs Superman 7/10

Felt Jesse Eisenberg was pretty decent in it. Can't undertsand the criticism of him particularly. Can't get over Affleck being Batman. Just doesn't seem right after Bale nailed it.

Superman's storyline was turgid. Felt he was let down by poor story telling.

The start was so slow, but the action scenes were good.

But surely if you have the talent ( which he has in abundance) then you deserve the fight , that's what kell has a promoter for in eddie hearn who is supposed to be one of the best in the business you would of thought he would be able to get him that 1 big name .

On the America point, totally agree ! If he's the "smaller " name it's natural that he has to go over there and fight !

I think Brook's style lets him down. The guy is a superb fighter, could he even be the best 147lb on the planet at the moment but his fights are often quite low-key, and his style is all about efficiency.

With Khan you normally get fireworks. He's far more explosive, and he's far more likely to be knocked out too. I think Brook's the better fighter, but I'd prefer to watch Khan in all honesty.

All the 147 action is in America. A Victor Ortiz and Andre Berto rematch for example is bigger than what IBF champion Brook can conjure up in the UK. It just won't happen for him there, he must go to the US.

It's different in the heavyweight division. The best are in the UK. Some great middleweight/super middleweights in the UK too with Andy Lee, Billy Joe Saunders, James Degale, Martin Murray, Callum Smith, Eubank Jr, George Groves. There is literally nothing at welterweight in the UK to get your out of your seat.

Kell Brook has got to get a big fight now ! Surely ! Amir khan needs to stop being scared and step up ! Brook would destroy him I genuinely believe that !

As I wrote above, I don't believe fear has anything to do with it. Brook's demands for the Khan fight is ridiculous. Brook barely sells out Sheffield, whereas Khan is known world-wide.

Brook's IBF title counts for very little when he's not a big name and it's come off the back of one win. Who will now come to England to challenge him? Somebody like Robert Guerrero can earn more money in the US fighting in a non-title fight than go to England to fight Brook.

Brook has to give. He has to swallow his pride, go to the US, accept like 30% cuts and fight bigger names.

It's the same with Viktor Postol at light welterweight. He's a champion, but hardly anybody has heard of him.. So he won't be able to demand big cuts in big fights. He actually went to the States to fight Matthysse and won - Brook should take note though I understand the obvious risks.

Khan will earn a lot more from the Canelo fight, and if he loses, nobody will bat an eyelid.

I have a friend who is a pro boxer. Fought Carl Frampton on the undercard of Froch/Bute in Nottingham. He's a very good fighter, but securing big fights is such a tough business.

Special K just too good tonight, when will Eddie Hearn get him a decent fight?

Poor bloke he beat looked scared from the minute he started his ringwalk.

I think the problem he faces is Hearn wants the big fights in the UK. That's where they can sell PPV, and earn the money. But who out there is going to come to the UK to fight him? The general public in America hasn't really heard of him.

There are so many options in America at 147 - Danny Garcia, Keith Thurman, Errol Spence, Marcos Maidana, Diego Chavez, Adrien Broner, Devon Alexander, Lamont Peterson, Timmothy Bradley, Lucas Mattyse, Andre Berto, Manny Pacquiao, Robert Guerrero... The list is endless.

I know he fought Shawn Porter and won... But one win doesn't really make an impact.

I can understand Khan's position. He has a far better resume and he is a bigger name. Brook doesn't deserve a 50% split. I mean, he's world champion, but only due to one good win.

What Brook has to do is fight bigger names. Him and Hearn need to swallow their pride, go to America, take a 25-30% cut in fights with the likes of Broner, Bradley, Garcia etc.. And build up his resume. It's risky, as he could lose and then Brook without a title won't be able to demand more than 20% cut, but it's necessary.

Everyone knows how good Brook is. So why would they travel to England and only take 50%, or 60% at the very most. It's not worth it, when these guys can get more money and bigger, perhaps easier, fights in the US.

  10. Man Up - 8/10 - Romcom with Simon Pegg. Love the guy, an entertaining movie and amaing how it hasn't become more of a hit. Gross figures were so low, a shame as it's decent.

Tomorrowland ??/10 - I turned it off after about 30 minutes, so not sure. Terribly boring for me.

True Story 7/10 - Seems weird seeing Jonah Hill and James Franco in a mystery thriller, but it was pretty good.

Southpaw 6/10 - Just a typical boxing comeback story. Passes the time well.

The Cokeville Miracle ??/10 - Heard about the event, saw they made a movie about it and it was rated 4/5 on Cuevana. I turned it off after 15 minutes, the acting was so utterly terrible.

Vacation 6/10 - Not an amazing comedy, but Ed Helms puts in another decent performance and it has its moments.

  11.

made a special effort to watch this based on these two comments. JUST finished watching it, and to say mindfcuk is an understatement! I will let it settle in my mind for a bit before I watch (at least) the ending again to get clarity in my mind.

I had to google it to fully understand it. Started reading up on all the timetraveling paradoxes.

I like movies which make you think, and later go out of your way to learn more about it.

  12. Predestination

If you don't like Sci-fi or don't want to think after a movie then avoid this like it's got a Forest flag on it.

Just finished it and wow. Any plot info would be a spoiler. Very clever. Very well paced, trust me. The first 30 mins seem to drag maybe a bit but it's all for good reason.

ill re-visit when the Bacardi has worn off but just now: 9/10 at least (and I don't give 10's)

I watched this last night. To say I was a bit confused is an understatement. It's a very clever movie.

  13. Inside out 10/10 - Just a masterpiece. Brilliant animation, abolsutely hilarious

Chasing Mavericks 10/10 - I love the ocean and water sports, so this gets my vote. Gerard Butler is awesome too

Jurassic World 7/10 - Happened all too quickly. I could tell the whole plot of the story in 30 seconds. Where did the time go? But a solid movie nonetheless and probably my second favourite in the series.

  14. I was expecting something to happen within the first hour, it didn't.  Not my sort of film I'm afraid, but then I didn't like war horse either.

Mad max, I enjoyed the first and will know doubt enjoy the new one, but having said that, one of my favourite films is mighty ducks, so my judgment is probably not the best.

I recently watched two films recently about American football based on true stories, draft day I think the name of one, and the other about a winning streak, I enjoyed them both despite not having an interest in the American sport, but probably stretched from what really happened.  However both kept me entertained throughout the films, the Foxcatcher just didn't, it is very, very rare I turn a film off, this though just seemed to be going nowhere.

Don't get me wrong buddy, I wouldn't watch Foxcatcher again as it's just one of those moves - good to watch to understand the story behind it all but not again.

12 years a slave is another brilliant film, but there is no way I'd watch it again.

If you enjoyed the first Mad Max, you'll love the second. A few of my mates came out saying it was rubbish because they never understood what it was about.

I thought it was a decent remark of the original, likewise with the Planet of the Apes movies.

Also seen both of those American Sports movies - both are decent! Have you ever seen The Blind Side? It's a masterpiece of a sports-based movie, my favourite out there.

  15. Old boy, on sky movies at the moment.

An interesting film to say the least, and an unexpected twist at the end that I did not see coming.

Foxcatcher, where do I start, I turned it off after an hour as it was only half way through and was  so boring.

Steve Carell and Mark Ruffalo's performances in this were brilliant, utterly brilliant. What sort of film were you expecting? It was a biographical movie based on a chilling crime.

I personally thought it was good, but then again I wasn't expecting it to be anything other than a drama.

Likewise with Mad Max, so many came out the movie saying it was awful. If they had watched the original, then they would have known what type of move it was.

Interstellar another one. I think it's an amazing movie, but then again I'm fascinated by the science of it all not the explosions and special effects.

The last movie I saw was San Andreas. Why oh why do movie makers persist on creating such unrealistic characters. They had a great idea, the visuals were brilliant but the Rock's character and all the near-death but escape at the last moment scenes were ridiculous.

If you haven't seen it, the Rock is a fireman who can fly a helicoptor, fly a plane, hijack and wire-star a car, ride a speed boat over a tsunami, locate the whereabouts of his daughter with his brilliant mind, be an awesome swimmer and perform doctor-like CPR at the end. This is a fireman we're talking about, not Superman!

  16. I'm not sure whether the Heavyweight division is really terrible at the moment, or whether klitschko is that good that he seems to comfortably beat any challenger put in his way.

So many have unbeaten records ahead of fighting Klitschko and then they just lose and seemingly disappear from the face of the earth.

What has happened to the likes of Pulev, Povetkin, Wach, Chagaev and Pianeta. These are all names with only one loss on their record (to Klitschko) but none have been sounded out for fights against Fury, Chisora, Joshua etc.

I know these fights might not make for big headlines and a lot of money, but they should be used to really test UK's best talent. Who has Fury actually fought that are any good?

  17. Joshua vs Kingpin should be good.

I like Degale, but his post-match comments were abit annoying. I understand he must be 'buzzing' but why go off and call Froch, Groves and Ward 'pussies' for not fighting him.

    Ward would annihilate him.

Also find it annoying how some British boxers cry for rematches after losing but when winning closely - by SD or a lucky KO when losing on points - they quickly close that 'story' and feel they're too good for a rematch.

  18. Pacqiuao won that fight, Ridiculous decision!

He was the agressor every single round and Mayweather fought like a coward retreating at every available opportunity. The fact that Pacqiuao was fighting with one arm appartently as well after being denied a shoulder injection makes Mayweather seem all the more weak.

Did you not hear the boos when the decision was announced as unanimous in Mayweather's favour?

In regards to the best ever, you're really saying Mayweather is better than Ali?

No need to get worked up over it. It was so, so obvious how it was going to play out.

Mayweather is so good defensively, he just aims for a seven-round victory. Last night, I think he won 9-3 - which whould make it a 117-111 victory which was pretty close to the 118-110 (10-2) and 116-112 (8-4) official scorecards.

You say Manny was the more aggressive. Yes, but Mayweather actually threw more punches and landed more accurately (141 to 91) I think it was.

It's that jab. It's so effective, like Klitchsko in the heavyweight division, that's it's really hard for opponents to get inside and get any clean shots. No matter how fast Manny is, his small stature never allowed him to get close enough.

Mayweather provides the jab, bobs, weaves, ducks - throws accurate punches. He's the best defensive fighter ever therefore the only way to beat him is by a fluke knockout (not likely!). At his weight, he's unstoppable.

But his fights are so boring because he only ever aims for a seven-round win. Get those seven rounds and it's in the bag.

  19. To define Best Ever is more than just boxing skills, but also personality, popularity and humility.

It's why Lionel Messi in football is rightfully compared to TBE. He ticks all the boxes.

Mayweather, on the other hand, isn't a popular figure. He's extremely respectful to his opponents post-fight, which is quite nice to hear. But his behaviour, money-flashing eccentrics easily rubs people up the wrong way.

  20. Imagine sticking 2 Mayweather's in a ring...

It would be the equivalent of a 0-0 draw between Jose Mourinho's Inter Milan and Roberto Di Matteo's Chelsea.

I was going to use Stoke vs Sunderland, but Mayweather deserves more respect than that,
