  1. Ah, we thickos have stumbled on something here. I'm thinking there's something to the apparently warped logic after all. Clearly after WW1 and WW2, we should not have negotiated the terms of the Nazi surrender with Germany, but instead with someone nicer. The Belgians maybe? They're almost German, but less genocidal and they make lovely chocolate and beer. They let dogs in their restaurants too and anyone who is nice to doggos is alright with me. Or perhaps the Dutch as an alternative? They're a pretty chilled bunch on account of being too stoned to bother having a row, so they'd be way more compliant and easy to deal with. Food for thought!
  2. Would be lovely. I think Bird maybe, but I think Dwight will struggle and with Collo back in the fold, I'd be tempted to Gayle more time. I am wondering though whether he might be someone we look to secure for next season. On what I've seen of him, he still has the quality to be effective at Championship level and he seems to have taken to the club and vice versa.
  3. See the likes of you and I clearly don't get the nuances these clever folk do. I'd always thought that stopping people murdering women and children would be viewed as preferable to sitting around watching it happen while tugging my forelocks and pondering the right to return conundrum. Silly me!
  4. Spot on Madamster. I've joked about the game, but it's one that makes me nervous. That said, we've improved a lot in how we deal with shithouses and I expect us to win the game. If we do, we're almost over the line IMO.
  5. Fairs pal. Thought it was a good game between two sides, both with enough about them to escape this league. Hopefully we'll be back at your place next season, but in the Championship this time. If you could ask your lads to put one on Bolton though, we'd all be much obliged 🤣
  6. It's puzzled me that he's stopped quoting xG stats to support his argument, but then a quick look shows why he's had to resort to making shyte up. Not worthy of a draw he says... Hmmm.
  7. Adams Park Stadium Wednesday, April 10th – Kick-Off: 19.45 Still a full week to go before another match to savour, this time against a club who can sensibly lay claim to having the greatest car park in all of football. So, what is there to say about L1’s perennial not-so-nearly men? Well, they have a fantastic chairman don’t they! Who else would be magnanimous enough to name their ground after our legendary midfield destroyer, Ebou? More to the point, how did he even know Ebou was coming to Derby? Clever chap, I suppose, which is probably why he now owns more ambulances than the NHS. As for Wycombe the town, well some brief research shows that Wycombe is notable only for being surrounded by places that are not dumps. Also, for weighing its mayors to see whether they have been getting rich on the public pound. Oh, The Cornetto Trilogy too, for any Hot Fuzz fans out there. Moving onto Wycombe FC, well what can I say? No, really, what can I say? Oh, alright then! Their Wiki bio states that Wycombe Wanderers Football Club is an English professional association football club based in the town of High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. Founded in 1887, they entered the Southern League in 1896. Despite being around forever though, they’ve won the square root of feck all and in 137 years, have only managed to accrue around 7,000 supporters. I’m no maths whizz, but by utilising my trusty abacus, I’ve calculated that at their current rate of growth, they will hit Derby levels of support in only 508.86 years. Something to look forward to, then. Key Threats Well they are two-fold and to be taken seriously; firstly, there’s the threat of legal action and secondly, there’s a very real possibility that they’ll attempt to hoof half our team into the stands. Fortunately for us, we’ve already paid them out, so they’re now feasting on the bones of other clubs in financial strife. Also, their stands are tiny and their team is rubbish, so if any Wycombe player does attempt to half-volley Liam Thomson into the North Stand, he’ll probably miss it altogether. On the pitch, after a seriously deep dive, the only threats I’ve come up with are Luke Leahy who has amassed 8 goals and 6 assists this season from @40 starts, Dale Taylor with 5 and Joseph Low with 4. I was going to visit their forum to try to discern some interesting insider titbits for you lot; team strategy, injuries, pie quality and the like, but I immediately realised I’d rather eat my own vomit, so I didn’t bother. Feel free to have a gander yourselves though. The Team I think we’ll likely see the same starting 11, or very close to it. Fortunately, we now have the aforementioned Ebou Adams, so when they kick us, he’ll kick them back. Several times each, probably. That said, I think if we play our own game and don’t get sucked into Wycombe’s peculiar brand of anti-football, we may well win and win well. And sadly, that’s all folks, as the pub beckons and in truth, I’d not really counted on us getting past both Blackpool and Pompey and have nothing else prepared. A final note though, for away supporters looking for things to do before and after the game, might I recommend a trip to Henley, Marlow or Windsor instead? COYR BE MORE B4
  8. 1Wildsmith 5.5 - I really like Joe as a player and I hope if we secure promotion, he will reconsider his stance. That said, the timewasting, the rushes of blood, their 2nd goal... He's not irreplaceable by any stretch. 2Wilson 7.0 - Worked hard and did pretty well on a tricky night to play football. 35Nelson 6.5 - Saw the nosebleed reappear again. A fair performance, but not one at his normal level, though he did work incredibly hard to try and cover Sibley who struggled all night. 6Cashin 7.0 - Steady on a difficult night for defences. Another who was drawn out of position trying to cover for others' mistakes. 17Sibley 6.0 - Really struggled. Finally managed to get close enough to Kamara to snap his spine and the latter was decidedly less of a threat thereafter. Louie's greatest weakness is his complete lack of pace, but in fairness to the lad, while he can manage the LB role, it's not his best position, not by a long way. 23Ward 8.5 - MOTM by a stretch. The lad has answered his critics in fine style and was excellent against the best side we'll face this season. 16Thompson 6.0 - Still looks a shadow of the player we saw early season, but he's getting very little game time and I think it's that as much as anything, that is holding him back. He's a baller, but he definitely needs game time and I'm not certain he'll get in under PW. 12Smith 7.5 - A calm and measured performance again from Korey. With us again utilising a 2 man MF, he had to work very hard and gave CBT a serious ear-bashing when he failed to provide support on the left flank. I'd love us to play a 3 man midfield, as I think it would add to our stability and balance. Asking players to cover extra ground on a pitch that heavy is perhaps too much. 4Hourihane 6.0 - Gets the median 32Adams 7.5 - He's here, he's there, he's every ******where. I was surprised at how niggly Portsmouth were, especially early on. Ebou was, of course, having none of it. He's the enforcer we all (well nearly all) knew we needed. Better late than never, but for once, no MOTM for a player who has monopolised that slot recently. 27Blackett-Taylor 7.5 - After a really tricky start, where he didn't seem to grasp the workload expected of him, this lad is now finding his stride and some. he was excellent last night and by and large, he worked really hard too. Korey hairdryered him for briefly switching off, but I think if we play 3 across the middle, there'd not be so much emphasis on his defensive duties. He's not a wingback and never will be, but this lad can play. 14Washington 6.0 - Gets the median 11Méndez-Laing 6.0 - Nate seems a tad off it and looked pretty frustrated at times last night. While he's wearing the armband, he has to keep that in check. This wasn't his best performance by a long chalk, but he did get plenty of 'attention' from Pompey and he'll bounce back in time. 9Collins 7.5 - So good to have Collo back. Understandably, we're not a great side when stripped of striking options and while he struggled to get much change out of their CBs, he kept them busy enough to create opportunities for others. Seemed to empty quite suddenly and perhaps it would have made sense to haul him off a little earlier. He'll be sharper for the outing, no doubt. 10Waghorn 6.0 - Gets the median. WarneWatch - A mixed bag; on the one hand, we again set up with a 2 in midfield and to my eye, we gave them far too much space in the middle of the park, both early on and after the break. That said, he was as good as his word and sent out a team with serious attacking intent and one could sensibly argue that we were unlucky not to end up with all 3 points. Looking purely at the result, you'd have to say that this was another good night's work from the gaffer, his coaches and the players and the point secured might just be the difference come the end of the season.
  9. Climb out of your own arse. You're not half as smart as you think you are and folk are sick to death of your BS.
  10. You trolled, you got your bites. Stop insulting folk's intelligence by pretending your initial post was anything but flat out trolling. You've done it time and time again recently and you f****** know it.
  11. All well and good mate, but I think given the topic, there's probably more pressing stuff to discuss than how you feel you are dealt with on and off this forum. If it's really as big a problem as you make out, you could quite easily avoid the contentious threads, but you choose not to and let's have it right here, you've given as good as you get with your labelling of anyone you see as left wing anyway. Everyone else has moved on, but seemingly you can't. Odd that.
  12. Sadly that's the last chance of winning the league gone, but on balance, I suppose it's a fair enough result. Disappointing that the offside and handball were not clocked for their goals, but we could have conceded a pen on another day. There'll be some tired legs in both changing rooms tonight. Two decent sides who gave their absolute all.
  13. Ah, the usual attention seeking arse biscuits from the forum's failed journo. What took you so long?
  14. Does Sibley know who he's meant to be marking? He's had the attention span of a goldfish tonight.
  15. Was just thinking that's what I'd do. his energy in the middle of the park could come in handy right now.
  16. Lol, only time Sibs has got anywhere near Kamara and now he's gone and broken him.
  17. That's how much it'll cost me, yes 🤣
  18. Can we please, please, please not do our usual and return from halftime in a orange slice induced coma? Their confidence is well and truly dented and we must keep a boot on their throat. They're a very good side, that's easy to see, but we're creating chances and taking them too and I'd love not to end up crying myself to sleep in the spare room tonight.
  19. GF has decided to go for a run. 'I can't bloody think with you screaming at the telly every 5 seconds' she says, before theatrically flouncing towards the door. 'Will you be gone long dear?' I respond.
