  1. My view is more along the lines of Warne finds it hard to trust untested players, so will avoid using them until absolutely necessary. Take Thompson as an example, who was only given a start following Bird's injury leaving just Smith and Hourihane as other CM options. Even then, instead of using him as a CM, he was shoved out on the left wing.
  2. What's the difference between interim head coach Wassall, and interim manager Rosenior, for one to be included but the other excluded? The games where Rooney managed whilst being interim manager have also been included.
  3. So you believe we have a total club wage bill of £6-7m? Best in mind it was roughly £18m when we got relegated under administration.
  4. A few errors I spotted: Liam Rosenior - 58.3% Billy Davies - 44.9% (it was a 34.8% loss record) Roy McFarland - managed for 2 spells. The 1st for just 9 games with a 44.4% win record, then a 2nd spell of 93 games with a 43.0% win record. Terry Westley - 25% Paul Jewell - 22.4%
  5. Don't bother. I went through great detail listing recent L1 wage bills for every club in this division, yet still got the "just guessing" response.
  6. You've either not read my post or you're being deliberately argumentative.
  7. If our players aren't better than theirs, you have to ask why. That's either poor recruitment, or poor coaching. If you don't actually believe they have better players, then it's down to being unable to motivate the players, bad tactics, or the players being incapable of playing those tactics (see also bad recruitment).
  8. Isn't the screenshot on the right just a post from on here when someone tried to guess what our restrictions were?
  9. He's someone I've dismissed without really looking into it. But, here's Whoscored's strengths and weaknesses for this season
  10. Fair enough for not wanting to make a change after 14 games, but what about after 62 games in charge? I'll also go back to the point that we only sacked (mutually agreed) one manager since replacing McClaren 6.5 years ago. Going further back, we have sacked only 6 managers in almost 15 years.
  11. Ironically, since our slump at the end of last season, our ppg record has steadily improved based on 6 and 12 game rolling averages (results in all competitions included). Whilst I had the same initial reaction as many others to the "knee-jerk" comments, I think those comments are fair. The general trend gives me a bit of confidence that results may improve, even if performances don't.
  12. You mean like when Davies wasn't awarded a freekick when thrown to the ground by Ikpeazu in 21/22 because "he's strong enough to handle himself"
  13. Preston changed to a system which has wing backs and no wingers, so didn't fit in their manager's plans - he was mostly used as a RWB in that final season.
  14. What's the trend as time has gone on? Specifically, Feb onwards?
  15. It changed back a few years ago. Can't remember where or when exactly.
  16. Attendance is always given as people in the ground
  17. Update: Wildsmith Nyambe Nelson Bradley Forsyth Fornah Mendez-Laing Bird Sibley Barkhuizen Collins Subs: Vickers, Wilson, Ward, Smith, Hourihane, Waghington, Brown
  18. John-Jules' loan ends Jan 1st. Whilst he got injured 1 month ago and it was initially announced that he would be out for 1 month, Warne revealed in the last pre-match presser that he "hopes [John-Jules] will be available in the coming weeks". That doesn't leave much time for him to build up fitness and break into the side before his loan ends.
  19. I mistakenly thought G Star was talking about Warne's signings coming back from injury. Warne didn't use Thompson until we had a few injuries, and that was before we signed Fornah. I still can't see him getting much game time under Warne.
  20. Wildsmith Nyambe Nelson Cashin Forsyth Fornah Mendez-Laing Bird Sibley Barkhuizen Waghorn Subs: Bradley, Wilson, Ward, Smith, Hourihane, Waghington, Collins
  21. 5 or 6? Vickers - missed only 2 games this season, but is still 2nd choice GK Nyambe - played every game since he joined Nelson - played every minute in the league this season Bradley - been fit enough for every matchday squad this season, but is still behind Cashin in the pecking order. Wilson - been in the last 10 matchday squads, with 4 starts in the last 6 games. Fornah - been in every matchday squad since joining Washington - fit enough for every matchday squad this season, but missed out at Notts County due to playing for N.Ireland. Waghorn - Stevenage was the first league game he's missed since he joined Which leaves: Ward - been fit enough for the bench for the last few games, but Warne opted not to include him until the weekend. Elder - even when fit for the first 8 games of the season, he was 2nd choice on the left John-Jules - we'll probably be lucky to see him again before his loan ends Embleton - already back with Sunderland and won't be seen in Derby shirt again. To sum up, we're actually only waiting for Ward to get fit to improve our first 11.
  22. I assume 5 league games, rather than counting Crewe and Wolves U21 towards the total. In the next 5 games, we play sides who are currently 5th 13th, 16th, 20th and 24th in the table. We shouldn't be settling for anything less than 9 points from those.
  23. For context, it was actually 4. A further 2 were brought on, and 2 left on the bench (despite only using 4 out of 5 subs)
  24. Barkhuizen was offside only twice during his whole time on the pitch last weekend.
  25. A thread was created just a few days before Warne was appointed, asking a simple question: If not Rosenior, then who would you hire? There were very few people with genuine alternatives to Rosenior. Not a single person suggested Warne. Even on the day of Warne's appointment, there were 85 people with enough foresight to know Warne wouldn't be good enough Some good points were also made in this thread, just 1 month into this job.
