For what it's worth I don't like the transfer board either, I'm just not sure how to make it better.

I did once try to push through a new topic per article, that way you could see what was new in the opening post. The forum did not like, in fact they ignored it and just went back to the players name and chucking everything in.

I do like the idea of a Player Performance board, one topic per player, but it won't stop the transfer board spiralling off into pages and pages of puns and discussions on the player.

I have looked how other forums handle it and to be honest they are all the same, some don't have a transfer board at all as the rumours are in the main board.

That’s fair enough, hopefully it’ll calm down a bit after Thursday anyway. Thanks for getting back, appreciate the work you all put in!

It’s nowt to do with me, but, people will still carry on as before, and we’ll just have  a minimum of 11 new forums if not more.

We have enough forums to mod as it is m’owd.

    Aye, that’s fair enough!

  3. Quick suggestion although I guess there will be reasons, but in the Derby forum could we get a sub forum for player discussion with a thread for every player?

Might stop things like the transfer rumours pages getting clogged up with player discussion or posters creating new threads on players that are maybe unnecessary (here’s looking at the new Keogh and Lawrence threads from today)

Missed my first train to Leeds tonight as I was in Sheffield Tap. Fortunately the M&S have a selection of these in at the minute to help me pass the time

Quick point, despite having blonde hair I am not Matej Vydra....?

  5. So I think there’s an ad that if it’s clicked on automatically signs you to a site that charges you £3 a week. When my phone was in my pocket last week I think my phone accidentally pressed onto a thing called snackgames that did it and now I see a fitness one advertised. After I pressed on the one last week I had to make a frustrating call to Vodafone to sort it out so it’s not the easiest to get rid of. Lots online about the scam too.

Not sure what can be done, but just a heads up really

The Barley Mow!! My favourite pub. Love Cromford (and The Boat) too. Hope you've moved somewhere with a decent pub.

@Lambchop I ended up going to the Golden Rams with my Grandad last week and decided to finish the day with a drive to the Barley Mow and it ended up being closed (think the shop next door said it doesn’t open until 7), so I missed out but I will get there...one day.

Ended up going near his and up to the Lathkil though so all was not lost!

If you are going to be in and around Matlock then there’s a little micro pub/ale stop place up near the town hall that has good reviews (although consistent to me in this thread I’m yet to go in myself).

Yes, many times. It’s good quality, plentiful, standard pub fare, with the emphasis on filling you up, rather than haute cuisine. They serve all day, which is an advantage if you’re walking and don’t want to be bound by usual meal times. It’s a good local, fun and friendly. If you want something posher, but pricier, try the Greyhound.

The Barley at Kirk Ireton is one of those, experience it before it changes, places. It’s been the same landlady for at least 35 years that I know of. Numerous other great pubs in the area, Barley at Bonsall, Flying Childers at Stanton, Druid at Birchover, Nelson at Middleton etc etc. I’m now a devotee of the Royal Oak in Wirksworth, where Burton Bridge is still £3 a pint.

Ah the Childers is about a mile from where I grew up so I know it well. There’s quite a few that way which are great pub hop (if you have a designated driver) inc Lathkil and Youlgreave.

Will need to check out The Royal Oak, also that micropub that’s recently opened there? I was at le mistral on Saturday night and it’s the first time I’d noticed it there (didn’t have time to go anywhere else unfortunately). I think a Wirksworth night out appears much different to how I remember it about ten years ago!

That was my local until last month. Always preferred the IPA to Hartington bitter; more body, and it doesn’t have that weird elderflower thing going on. The best pint of it I know is at the Barley Mow at Kirk Ireton, straight out of the barrel as nature intended.

Out of interest did you ever have the food there? I’d only ever been in there before going to the tapas place so I’ve only ever been in for a quick pint (and sit by the fire on a cold winter night), but it always looked decent and the eating area is always packed. Was getting quite tempted with the carvery today!

I think the bitter is nice for one, on a country walk or summit. I grew up in north Derbyshire and happily driven out to different pubs across the region (the locals our way are a bit uninteresting and tourist-y so its better to drive out somewhere different for one than sit in the same pub paying £4 plus for rubbish)but I’ve never been to the Barley Mow. In fact aside The Knockerdown I don’t think I’ve been to many Ashbourne way at all. I know people love it there though, I should probably address this haha

  10. Just been to The Boat Inn in Cromford (a lovely little pub off the beaten track if you are in the area) and had a pint of the Hartington brewery’s IPA. I’ve only ever had the bitter before which is nice but I could have happily drank that all afternoon.

The beauty about Belgiuminabox is the delivery charges are exceptionally good. The price to ship one case from Antwerp is the same as shipping two (so naturally I order 2 crates at a time). They use DPD as shipping agents - It's less than €10 and takes between 3 and 7 days (it depends whether Kurt has everything in stock). Just beware that if you use Paypal, there's a €5 surcharge.

Much appreciated, I’ll check it out!

I watch the full 90s despite knowing the results and enjoy doing so - i find you can better take in both the positives and the negatives when you're not wrapped up in the heat of battle!

That’s good to know, might delve into the £5 a month and give it a go. Final question but can you also download the 90 too? If not that might be a nice option for those that might have a commute to work (if you are reading Mr Morris)

You'll be able to stream some games in the UK legitimately next season, thanks to Mel sticking it to the EFL.

All midweek games I think, and possibly others.

Until then, you'll have to make do with audio only, with full matches to follow.

Great news, see you next season!

Although on another note I hope they don’t create too much direct competition against Radio Derby with this. To have the games, review shows and features is worth paying for but the need for a balanced journalistic view is vital

You can only stream the first team matches live abroad. The £5 a month subscription is for radio commentary and the full 90 minutes, normally the day after.

Ace, thankyou. I get confused as you see people on social media seemingly commenting on the game watching it and I couldn’t work out if it was ramstv or what.

Do people end up watching the 90 minutes then and is it worth it after you know the score ie is it worth the £5 a month? I kinda switched off when it was all happening in the summer as I’m not sure whether it’s the club trying to control the media or not, so I’m only just catching up.

If you could stream games live in the UK I would be throwing money at them but I guess this is some time away at the moment

  15. Apologies for putting this in here but I need a little bit of ramstv help which probably didn’t deserve its own thread and couldn’t find another appropriate one

I was looking into the possible subscriptions and struggling to get my head around it when looking online. I live in Sheffield and I’m annoyingly about half a mile out of a catchment area for radio Derby so it makes it annoying for away games. Can we not actually stream the games live if we live in the UK then? I’m unsure whether it’s worth it just to get the audio of Radio Derby for midweek away games (and also once I’ve paid my license fee I’m slighlt aggrevied to pay it another £5 a month on that service but it’s possinly another rant that).

I know this must be stuff that’s been over many times so apologies again but any help would be much appreciated!
