  1. Cashin had only played 18 games the season before, less than Thompson. The quote was "he absolutely is afraid of putting young players in incase they make mistakes." Which in my opinion is an unfounded statement that isn't backed up by him using youngsters he feels are going to better his first team.
  2. For comparison, what about Bird and Cashin. He isn't afraid to put youngsters in, he just doesn't think some are as good as other options. Same as every manager really, Cole to Chelsea is a very good example of that. Edit Also add in Haydon Roberts, another "young" player, PW was happy to play.
  3. Along with a lot of highly reputable investors into his company, based on his deceit.
  4. Whereas I'd disagree, no one has ever in my opinion given any facts to what our current CEO has done wrong, speculation yes. Mind you, I used to have the same debate around our previous CEO, I remember at the time so many saying he had also been the architect of our running the club poorly and our owner at the time had to step in to put things right. That turned out well ๐Ÿคจ
  5. Never listened to him on radio so can't comment on that, met him a couple of times at grassroots football. During these brief encounters, I see why he divides opinion, however as with anyone, I hope he finds what's he is looking for and has put whatever issues he has had, firmly behind him.
  6. Callum Wilson, Pickford, Pope are just a number of names that went on loan to the national league. There are often players from the PL loaned out to the league to gain experience, It's not something Warne and his staff have just dreamed up to ruin our academy, being a third tier club, limits the number of clubs that are interested in players that can't get into our own first team.
  7. Klopp is out of work in summer, no wait, has form with being relegated, scratch that.
  8. 26 quid for two to Barnsley Saturday, not bad at all. Just makes a change for them not to be on strike.
  9. There aren't many, the difference between U21 and playing in the first team is massive. Very few actually make it, Stretton is another example of someone who looked good at that level because it's not really competitive. Can't understand the fascination for a 18 year old leading your line in a promotion charge who has no experience, why not send him out to prove what he can do. If he starts scoring for fun, you then have a player who can be recalled that is on top of his game and full of confidence.
  10. Not seen him play for a while, however hopefully he will do well for us. We play the type of football that creates chances, hopefully that will play to his strengths.
  11. You seem to have jumped over a post without reading the previous message, I'd suggest you do that first ๐Ÿ‘
  12. Was CBT not brought in to replace him as a starter. For me, he is still ahead of Sibley, but regardless I'm sure he has obeen dropped from the starting line up and it seems has been identified as a player we can improve on.
  13. I can't remember yesterday, let alone something like that. I believe Stevange away and ones prior to that he was played in an advanced position. (Only because someone mentioned it at weekend, so it may or may not be true)
  14. Apologies, the point I was making is that you don't need a run of games to prove the shirt is yours. I think Sibley over the years under various different managers, has had plenty of opportunities in his favoured role, if it takes him 45 minutes to get into a game, that's a luxury you can't afford imo.
  15. In what world did I say they did ๐Ÿ˜ณ I was pointing out that it doesn't take a number of games to show that shirt is yours. As I followed up with, others have taken the role Sibley plays in. Compare him to who you want, blame PW for holding him back (ignoring the other managers of course), however as I said in my OPINION, he hasn't progressed and is best used as an impact sub. I think he will do alright, I think though he will probably be another Mason Bennett though, hope I'm wrong.
  16. Imo that's not an excuse for him. He has been used in various roles because under several managers he has not been deemed good enough in them attacking ones. Adams has come in, taken him 3 game's to show he is the best suited for that role, whereas Sibley hasn't and others perform better in that position. As I said, my opinion, but rumours has it he has been offered around and we had no takers, come summer on a freebie, he should have them jumping for his signature if he is that good.
  17. Personally think he is best utilised as a sub when the game is more open. He may have the most contributions stats wise however this doesn't tell the same story as watching the game. Unfortunately he isn't involved within the game as an attacking player for me and therefore sometimes it's like playing with a player less. I remember him breaking through and thought he was going to be the next big thing, still may be, his love for the club is clear, his desire is also there wherever he puts on the shirt is never on doubt. However he hasn't been able to hold down a regular place under several managers, he hasn't got people knocking down the door to take him to their club and therefore is at a crossroads of his career in the summer. Hopefully for him, wherever he ends up, he can kick on with his career but a change may be what is needed.
  18. Think it's been well documented that we didn't have any space on the business plan for a perm signing. So doing what you suggest, wasnt feasible from my understanding.
  19. Never hid behind anything, I left because I was getting involved in the COVID thread, where the same posters had the same arguments every day and refused imo to change stance depending on which side of the fence they sat (Me included). I came back to give some insight based on being around the academy and unfortunately have got involved again, in what sometimes feels like Groundhog Day, just a different subject. I said at the time, I have no real affiliation to PW, more stability around the club and not going down the same route as the previous owner. IMO I think he is doing a good job, but then I had never heard of him before he came to us, so I really don't care what he did before joining us.
  20. Alternatively a clean sheet, another 3 points against a team 7th in the league, 2nd in the league by 3 points and a good goal as well. The standards are what they are really, a club getting back on his feet, under an EFL business plan, following nearly going out of business less than 2 years ago after being relegated to the third tier of English football following a 21 point deduction.
  21. BillyD if that means that much to you. if it's against forum rules, happy for @David to remove my access ๐Ÿ˜Š
  22. Really, you haven't mentioned it before
  23. Seems that the restrictions we are under would have ruled out any perm signing, makes it even more difficult to bring players in, when your relying on loans. Gives more background on why they found it difficult to bring in another striker.
  24. Great win, especially in the circumstances. Easy to say PW got it wrong however the score was still 0-0 and his changes had a positive impact, games last 90 not 70 mins. Thought Smith changed the game and gave us a bit extra and well done to the fans who stuck with the team, reading some of the comments on this match thread, hopefully they won't be going to any games soon ๐Ÿ˜
  25. Still don't get the debate, their own website states it's not accurate. Expected goals predicts the correct home team result 66% of the time and away results 58% of the time. This is slightly better than shots on target on the away results and slightly worse on the home results.
