Carayol has impressed for Rovers this season since his move from Lincoln last summer and certainly has a number of admirers higher up the football pyramid. Barnsley are long-term admirers of Carayol and had a bid for the 22-year-old rejected in the January transfer window, but they are thought to have rekindled their interest. Middlesbrough have also expressed an interest in the winger, with Boro boss Tony Mowbray keen to bolster his attacking options for next season. Rovers are keen to keep Carayol and they are in talks with the wide man about a new deal to try and fend off the interest in the player.
