Anag Ram Posted July 1, 2012 Share Posted July 1, 2012 You're right. However, I think there are better players than Cox for the type of money he will go for. He doesn't use the ball well at all and it's a while since he proved himself a consistent scorer. The way I see it, you have one of four choices for your striker. 1. A big man who challenges in the air and holds the ball up to bring the midfield into play (think Kuqi). 2. A pacy man who can get behind the defence (think Theo/Tyson). 3. A goal hanger who contributes little else (think Lupoli). 4. A tricky player who can play one twos and do a trick (think Commons, Dickov). I would love to see a player from the 4. category. We played some great stuff when we had Bueno, Commons and Cywka on form. Too often we get to the opposition penalty area and then run out of ideas and confidence. An attacking midfield player and a tricky forward is, I think, more effective than erratic distribution from the wings, which is what you get from anyone at Championship level.
