Who are the cleans boys in the Championship? And those with 'doubtful' practices?

Disciplinary Record (League and Cup) for Championship Clubs

For the table I am using the previously used (and used on other forums) system of yellow card = one point and red card = two points for total games played … (if teams on same points, then team with less reds is considered ‘better’)

Key to reading table - Club Yellow Red (League) // Yellow Red (Total games)

45 Peterborough United 38 2 // 41 2

46 Derby County 44 1 // 44 1

46 Coventry City 40 2 // 42 2

48 Barnsley 43 1 // 46 1

48 Birmingham City 42 1 // 46 1

49 Reading 46 0 // 49 0

49 Blackpool 42 1 // 45 2

49 Crystal Palace 41 1 // 45 2

51 Watford 45 2 // 47 2

51 Ipswich Town 42 4 // 43 4

53 Nottingham Forest 42 3 // 47 3

53 Southampton 42 4 // 45 4

54 Cardiff City 38 0 // 54 0

55 Doncaster Rovers 49 2 // 51 2

56 Hull City 50 1 // 54 1

59 Burnley 47 2 // 55 2

66 Middlesbrough 53 5 // 56 5

67 Portsmouth 52 4 // 59 4

68 Millwall 57 2 // 64 2

68 Bristol City 58 4 // 60 4

69 Leeds United 53 5 // 59 5

69 Leicester City 47 7 // 55 7

69 West Ham United 52 6 // 55 7

99 Brighton and Hove Albion 73 6 // 87 6

Wow, look at Brighton, way out in front in … last place!

Bravo to the Posh !! But Derby are very, very decent …

(Royals fan in peace)

Thoughts??

There used to be a school of thought that believed that getting cards was a mark of the defence getting stuck in and doing well.

Wonder how many league champions have ever won the fair play award.

My guess is some fool will believe that this means the board is achieving perfection and that it makes the failures as far as results go are completely justified.

You're not really meant to start a thread that doesn't criticise the team/manager/club.

Mr Clough got rid of Albrechtsen (ex-WBA centre-half) a couple of years back, suggesting that he was a softie and citing that he hadn't incurred a booking in x number of games, in a past season in which the defence was also getting pressurised and carved up.

With our recruitment based on low wage-cost parameters and hence restricted availability, we're not acquiring that needed sprinkling of toughnuts who can handle themselves.

For instance, Tom Carroll is a 'touch' player and needs a 'tough' player alongside him, but little Tom (as a loanee here mainly for Spurs' benefit) is probably irrelevant to our long-term team-building anyway.

Most teams can handle what we can thow at them physically but it seldom works the other way around 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

As per the Snickers' advert: "Get some nuts!!"

Actually, incorporating FAIR PLAY in some way might be more postive than some might think - this sounds weird but if we had, say, every team starting the season on 10 points and then one point less for each ten yellow cards or each three red cards, it would radically change the way in which the more cynical/aggressive/plain stupid sides think!

Cywka – very much liked by Royals fans, and seems to be incorporated well into first team squad even if he hasn’t played 90 mins yet (the team is going great guns, 10 victories in 12 games, so for anyone entering starting XI is going to be difficult just for moment). But here’s some news:
