Ambitious
I think loaning the right sort of players in is a ridiculously difficult job, you have got to find players that want to put in the effort to become part of the future of this club, and despite this you don't want cast offs not good enough for rival sides and therefore not good enough for our side. It can become and expensive and head in hands gamble when all said and done, just ask the gumps down the road.. they've seen two Boyds and a Konchesky come in and disappoint for huge wages just to twoddle off else where or back to where they came from. If you're willing to splash the cash, it's like having a 24/7 transfer window as it's always permanently open. I would say for instance, we really were desperate for a top striker and we went to Bristol City and offered 2million for the loan until January and a 2million signing on fee in january we would have a Nicky Maynard in our ranks but we all know we aren't in that position. and the last thing we need is premiership youngsters coming into our team and not pulling their weight, so if anyone knows any top championship experienced players available for loan, please let them be known. uttoxram75
Good summary. Its a nightmare market to have to shop in. We really need a couple of short term loans but, like you say, who? We need to play a high tempo game to compete high up in this division so a quick right back and out and out striker is, imo, the priority right now. There must be a Bobby Davison lurking out there somewhere!
CumbrianRam
I can't stand the loan market, it is basically cast off trading.
RamNut
alot of people are talking about the need for a midfield playmaker. wondered what people think about andy reid or jonathon greening?? both very experienced premier league players..... andy reid - i've followed his career ever since he was a redcoat and chalet maid he looks more mobile since the gastric band was fitted but he has been giving it large ever since his appearance on celebrity big heffer. jonathon greening?....he wears an alice band and coloured boots he also has loads of tattoos. just the sort of player we need he was most successful at man utd where sir alex used him as a non-playing substitute
Gary Teale
Cant we get Addison back to sit on the bench just like he is at Barnsley. He is getting really fit there.
