Alph
Kilworth Fox, One thing Derby have given us this season is hard work and determination. I'm not sure we was missing that exactly. The game v Barnsley, while 24hrs before yours, was very fast paced. We tried and covered every blade of grass throwing everything at them. Maybe we were a little drained? On the other hand your lot are always well fired up for this one. And credit to you for that. But the quality of your football. Some of it was so fast and one touch. Unless we pack the midfield it was hard to even get near you. With the pace you moved the ball we was left chasing shadows. On the odd occasion we took control we wasted it with 40yard shots and disruptive punts from some players who should know better and tbf an 18yr old CB. I'm pretty happy with the effort. But players like Danns, Vassell and Nugent and King (as usual) were so pumped they were on a level we can't match after a game like Barnsley. We're a young side. perhaps a bit nice. Your team is better at the moment. 4-0 though is the killer for me. Really gutted with the last 2 goals. Worse goals we've let in this season. Fair enough, I don't really know about your determind performance against Barnsley, so i can't comment. If your players can contiune to beat the bottom half of the table sides through effort & quality then I am sure you will be up there for a playoff place, effort goes a very long way in the championship, from what I have witnessed since we have been in this division. When we went down, there were alot of players responcable IMO for just not giving 100%. My point to be fair was that it could be an easy defense to suggest that our players cost more or they are on higher wages which I am sure is all true, but credit to LCFC players their effort & determination to win the 50/50 ballls was better to start off with than DCFC players IMO, which set the scene for the game. Money buys you technique & skill but not team spirit & effort. Hey I have witnessed so many poor performances from footballers wearing my colours that it frustrates me imeasurably when I perceve them to not be trying as hard as the opposition & losing the 50/50's. Even at 3v0 up, Mills blocked a shot, he threw himself at the ball even when 3 up so that we could keep up our defensive record. That says alot to me about our positive mindset! I didn't see similar from DCFC today, but as frustrating as it is sometimes you have to accept a performance like Derby's today. Derby's run has been excellent & im sure that today was an off day, I suppose it not ideal being against LCFC? I think you have had a great start to the season, obviously better than us! So it's one you take on the chin & get motivation from, I'm sure NC will have you in the faces of whom ever your facing next 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> As for LCFC we will enjoy the moment, but there is a very long way to go, & anything less than 2nd is a failure for Sven! We'll see, you best be on here after the match on Satuday. xxx I`m here. Its ok. I just wont answer the phone. They wont answer the phone. Don't really think it matters who they play. They have an inferior team, manager, fanbase and city and the only thing they are famous for is being ruled by the French and naming everything after Simon De Monfort. I faart in their general direction. 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' /> Derbyshire Pox is "uber" confident. LCFC _Fan
Aw you couldnt help yourself no? You had a good look on our forum and just couldn't control your urge have your say. Well heres my opinion, I dont care what you have to say, we are better than you, we will win tomorrow, we have a team playing with passion, and not for money, me saying all this is pointless because the result tomorrow will speak for itself, and it will be a result in our favour xxx Bye Now The result sure spoke for itself eh 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />
Perky1106
We NEVER beat Leicester, haven't won in that city since 2002. We NEVER play well on Sky, so I hope we're never on TV again this season. We NEVER win before an international break and go into it on a high, which like Cucumber said is a very frustrating thing, I'd say 2-0 would have been a fair reflection. The last two goals were embarrassing. But... Their forward players simply outclassed ours, they were hyped up for it because it's a massive derby game for them remember. 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> But they're still three points behind us in the League. Our squad is young and will learn from it. Southampton don't have the quality Leicester have, just a very good manager. But in Clough we have an even better manager, and we will go out and win it in front a big crowd. Also where have all these Fester fans come from? They were pretty quiet up until today. Rammy Dodger
Quite embrassing when a big lump like Howard does that. I thought exactly the same Cumbrian In watching Howard play for about ten years, thats the first time he's ever tried to dribble the ball into the box past defenders Our backline made Steve Howard look like Theo Walcott today, FFS
city slicker
Well, Leicester were excellent. We contributed to our downfall though. Keep playing long balls/balls "over the top"..... it was just heading practice for Bamba and Mills. Brayford who will always be on of my favourite players was horrific. He's been poor on average so far this season and this is the worse display in a Derby shirt from him. Hendrick and Bryson were no match for that classy midfield of theirs. As good as Hendrick and Bryson are. Leicester are just too good. The service for Davies and Robinson was poor (except when Robinson should of connected with a header in the first half but sort of didn't bother) O'Brien hoofing out for Leicester goal kicks. He hoofs far too much. Ward trying his luck from 40 yards was wasteful. We have contributed but Leicester were excellent. They should walk the league. Well done to 'em. Top post,a well balanced and unbiased view after a defeat, you are a credit to this board ,well done! Its not the end of the world we needed the points more than you today, and we are starting to get into our stride now. Your'e lads have had a good start to the season, and if they let clough strengthen in 2 or 3 positions you may well be in with a shout of the playoffs .ive not come on here to gloat, just read some well thought out opinoins which are very rare on some boards, which is very refreshing to read . good luck for the rest of the season............. But I didn't believe at the start of the season that we'd be third in the table by October, and still three points of big spending Leicester. But we are! We both know it matters where you finish in May after 46 games, we have huge pressure & expectation on us because of the money spent, we need a 2nd finish minimum, If Derby finish 10th its a succesful season, playoffs would be an immense achievement! But I don't think you can expect to get automatic while your team is still gelling. You have a great squad but it won't gel instantly. Next season you'll probably walk it though. But it wouldn't surprise me if you scraped the play-offs. You have a good record at Wembley.
