Technically he was a decent player.  Just no real position where he was better than a specialist in that position.  In hindsight, I have no idea why we let Pearce go on a free and brought in Ambrose.  Always a solid if slightly slow defender.

I seem to remember getting rid when we had a real shortage of bodies. Might have made that up though.

Played games in midfield for us and thought he was always decent without really catching the eye.  I agree in that he is surely better than League 2.  Very good pro is George.

Yeaaaaah… was the sale that made me think we were in serious s***, selling good utility players for peanuts to Millwall.
