Not entirely unexpected but of course he was devastated and not looking forward to telling his parents. It’s a horrible time for some. He’ll be okay though as he has good support. He’s also just started a part-time job and that has done his confidence good. Young people are under so much pressure to achieve, be glamorous, popular etc. Exams are a small part of education and I don’t think you ever really learn much of use until you actually start work.
