Derby County supporters travelling to watch the Rams in action at Swansea City on Saturday should note that traffic congestion is expected in-and-around Wales due to the Ryder Cup at Celtic Manor.

In view of the fact that the Ryder Cup is being held at Celtic Manor over the weekend Gwent Police are advising motorists who are not attending the Ryder Cup to avoid the area where at all possible due to potential traffic disruption.

Derby County supporters are asked that they consider an alternative route to Swansea City's Liberty Stadium.

The most suitable alternative route once leaving the M5 would be to follow the signs for the M50 and then the A40 (Abergavenny) before they pick up the A465 signposted Merthyr then Neath to Swansea.

This is the first time that the Ryder Cup has been played in Wales and whilst all effort is being made to ease traffic congestion it must be noted that any alternative routes may also become affected and supporters should allow sufficient time for their journey.

Alternatively, spaces on the Roadrider are still available. The Roadrider leaves at 9:30am from Pride Park on Saturday and places cost £20 for members and £22 for non-members.

If Rams fans have any further questions, Swansea City will be happy to help when calling 01792 616 600.
