Gaspode
Budgie singer, bassist and songwriter Burke Shelley has died aged 71.... Won't be a familiar name to many, but a great frontman - Budgie were a tremendous live band and are (along with Motorhead) probably responsible for my less than perfect hearing over the past 40 years. Saw them a number of times including at the Assembly Rooms and (one of the loudest gigs I've ever been to) at the Rockhouse..... Eerily I heard Breadfan played on the radio at the weekend - a fitting tribute to a proper band.... TimRam
Sufferingfool
Sad news Budgie a very influential band who didn’t get the recognition they deserved with Shelley the driving force. So many great songs but my fav is Napoleon Bona Part one and two. RIP Burke
