Compared to last year

Despite our -2 points,  compared to last year are we really that far off?, This time last year we were shockingly bad and no sign of improvement. This year we are different,. Vector out our appauling second half season,and if we continue/improve  will our current points rate actually see us higher up than last year, discuss.

8 games into the season - 5 points (1W, 2D)

I didn't think we played that badly in the early games, aside from Blackburn when half a squad was missing due to injury. There was a clear (to me) identity of play, even if it wasn't being implemented fully. We were only knocked out of the cup because a penalty was wrongly awarded against us. Jozwiak's goal wrongly ruled out. A sublime pass from Bird to Knight, leaving him 1-on-1 wrongly ruled offside (10 yards onside). Just those 2 goals could have resulted in 4 or 5 more points and we would have been a very different season.
Bad luck resulted in a massive drop-off in confidence and performances even when all players returned from injury.

Last year we weren't in Adminstration, docked 12 points, possibly more, and likely to host a fire sale in January.
