Rams boss Nigel Clough's father Brian was in charge when Derby last won their first two league games, beating Chelsea and Manchester City in August 1973 - two months before Clough senior's reign as manager came to infamously an abrupt end. Striker Rob Hulse failed an early-morning fitness test at Moor Farm with an Achilles injury, so he misses out.
