Some teams change their names without liquidation or anything like that, and they don't forget past histories.

The history and associations continue unbroken.

We will always be Derby County. Derby County is us. It's the fans. It's the web woven into the city's heart and core.

We are not a name. We are at no risk whatsoever.

Genuinely! If we were ever called Derby City Football Club, nothing would actually change! We'd still be the same people, with the same passion, and the same memories, and the same dreams.

None of us would be happy with any name change. It seems as if it is core to our being.

But!

If it ever happened … then it wouldn't actually matter! (Afterwards!)

PS. Maybe it's a bit like if we were to end up being relegated. Deep down, we all hate the idea! And some of us might storm off for a while. But, in reality, fans will be fans, whatever League we're in. (Most of us.) (I've read write a few posts from people who went down to Division 3, and survived it!)
