Hucknall Ram
Whittingham pens new deal Cardiff City midfielder Peter Whittingham has put pen-to-paper on a new two-year contract with the club. The 26-year-old former England Under-21 international will remain with the Welsh side until the summer of 2013 having arrived back in 2007. Whittingham has been a Bluebirds stalwart since his move from Aston Villa and played an integral part in their play-off push last season. He scored a remarkable 20 goals in 41 Championship appearances as Cardiff reached the play-off final only to lose out to Blackpool. The former Burnley and Derby loanee will now be able to focus fully on the current campaign, starting with a home clash with Bristol City on 16th October. Cardiff are second in the table after an excellent start, having picked up six wins from 10 games so far.
