33% Academy players

6 of today’s 18 man squad are players brought through the Academy.  A sign of things to come?  Nobody can say Cocu isn’t giving youth a chance - let’s hope we can be competitive.  Still need to complement the youth with quality experience so hoping for a good January window with an eye on building a squad in the summer capable of mounting a challenge next season.

Can you give an example, pal? 

I love the fact there's a genuine effort to introduce the youngsters and not just paying lip service and then giving two of them a go in the cups

Would be fantastic for 1 of Whittaker, Knight or Sibley to score a winner which triggers a good bit of form.

We could do with a product if our academy having a similar impact to Will Hughes, it would be great.

From what I have been told a successful season will be two academy players playing regular first team football this season, forget playoffs just academy products playing

It’s only a positive if they’re in the team because they’re really good and ready. It’s not so much of a positive if they’re only in the team because the senior players are that poo. It feels like the latter at the moment.
