Carl Sagan Posted July 3, 2019 Share Posted July 3, 2019 After all his years of good service it's a shame we can't spell Wassall. I was highly critical of his stint in charge last time, especially his treatment of Hughes and Thorne. He's clearly a good innovative person at the club so my expectation is that he'll have learnt and would be better next time. He's been amazing with the academy. We are national U18 Champions! The U18s and U23s play lovely football. And Darren would be in prime position to integrate talented youngsters into the first team. If we can't secure an outstanding external candidate (I'd describe Cocu as outstanding) then I'd rather Wassall were given his chance, should he want it. And only if he really wants it. Darren Moore is a top bloke but I don't see that his one mediocre year in the front line compares with Wassall's many years of excellent service with some first team experience too.
