I would get independant advice, there is obviously your gut telling you some thing is not quite right.

Have you seen the plans?

Best advice above.

Ask to see the plans mate, even ask to speak to their architect.

I got planning permission for quite extensive work last year but I still went round my neighbours with the plans,if there was anything they were unhappy with I would have gone back to the architect.

If they piss you off just spot some newts or bats on the back.

Unfortunately he wouldn't need planning permission for a raised deck but your general point is good advice.

This is what's very hard to find out.

The raised deck is a good 7ft off the floor, with no balustrading at all.

On some advice I've read it sounds contrary to planning, on others not.

My experience is that people are dead stressed nowadays and are looking for summat to complain about. People don't talk to each other anymore, instead they assume their neighbours will not like what they're doing and just go ahead with it anyroad.

Talk to each other folks, be friendly, look after each other.

Ask the planning officer to come and have a look.

Ohhhh! The old bat trick!

Back of the net.

We had a 2 week stand down because the hippys had to come and inspect the dust and debris for batshit.  I said, are you crazy?

Its not looking for something to complain about,  id rather not have to say anything.

Just rather be sure now than when its finished.

Have you upset him yet?

The whole forums on tenterhooks, you’ll find the bloke will be ok, but the wife will be all defensive and sharp.

Watch the ladies on here deny it.

Great news for you, but not so good for us channel 5HD loving real life drama loving members. ?

Hey, keep us informed though. As long as their extension doesn’t stop you having the same on your side then I guess all’s good.

screw a dummy camera up where the builders can see it. Just for giggles.
