Giving players a clean slate

Usually a huge believer in clean slates but alot of this side have had about 4/5 clean slates in the past few seasons in many formations.

Gets to the points where we just need to accept we've been mugged off in the transfer market and the players aren't good enough. One thing Rowett was doing well was clearing the squad slowly, his signings were generally good but age isn't on our side.

I've seen enough of the likes Weimann, Johnson, Butterfield, Blackman, Olsson, Forsyth, Bryson and Martin. If we take Lampard it's a new era ??

Have you seen Weimann up front in his actual position?

Have you seen Blackman in a free inside-forward role from the right?

Did you not see when Martin was exceptional when given runners?

You’ve seen Olsson as bonafide first choice left-back ina settled defence?

You’ve seen Butters in the controlling role that he himself stated was his best position?

You’ve seen enough from Fozzy in his first season back from nearly two years out that he’s done for?

You don’t remember Johnson being absolutely immense as a screener or you’ve already seen him in a free running role?

You don’t remember Bryson’s runs from deep creating the space for George and Butters to operate?

Absoloutely all of those players have proven that in the right roles that they’re top Championship players AT LEAST which is the very point of this thread.

People forget we were top of the league a couple of years back with Thorne, Johnson and Butterfield in midfield behind Martin leading the line. It really worked. They complemented each other.

Not a clue how we will look next season but excited to see it unfold and believe each player deserves a clean slate.
