Derby Footage 1969

Two of Derby's most talked about fixtures form the early Clough days were thumping spurs 5 0 in front of the Rams record home crowd, followed shortly after beating Shankleys Liverpool 4 - 0. Follow the link and scroll to about 32/33 minutes. Liverpool game I haven't seen since 1969, brought back in clear colour. Quality of the goals is tremendous and just look at the terraces!!

Allan Clarke kept him out of the England team if my memory serves me correctly.

I used to play like Allan Clarke. Stand on the goal line and knock the ball into the net, even if I had to stop a team mates goal bound shot and knock it in. He made Darren Bent look like a long range shot specialist

Wasn't kevin hector bloody fantastic.

If there has to be a moment in time that defines a landmark in Derby County's history it would be the day Kevin Hector walked through the doors at the Baseball Ground. On his home debut fans carried him shoulder high off the pitch at the end even though Alan Durban scored a hat trick. People couldn't believe how we managed to sign him. A year later Brian Clough arrived and the rest is history. Blimey, showing me age now.
