Perky1106
They got away with it. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/p/portsmouth/8886009.stm Portsmouth have won the latest round of their survival battle after the tax authorities failed in an appeal over the club's Company Voluntary Agreement. The proposed CVA would help the club to come out of administration by organising payment to its debtors. HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) wanted it blocked, calling it "unfair and seriously flawed" as it gave preference to football creditors. HMRC said in a statement that it will not appeal against the judgement. HMRC's lawyer Gregory Mitchell QC had said the way the agreement favoured some creditors - including players, who could recover 100% of money owed - over others - such as HMRC itself - meant "one class scoops the pool and the rest are left out in the cold." I'm glad for the Portsmouth fans but this is a bad day for the interests of football. They are tax evaders, simple as and are getting away with it. Boycie
All the footballers get there money, and the agents. Everyone else gets 20 in the pound. the inland rev will not contest or appeal this either. The **** who spent money he never had will now buy back the club and it will carry on trading. DISGUSTING, FECK PAYING TAX! SEE THEM IN COURT.

ramtasia
Another club that has gone the administration route to wipe a big percentage of debts out. I sometimes wonder if derby had gone the same way years ago would we now be debt free and in the Premiership

Day
Lawrence turned them down, didn't fancy the move. Favourites to go down for me, theres no way you can go a season with that squad, soon as the bookings start totting up, suspensions and injuries they will be down to the youth team.
