Around1980 sounds too late for graham Paddon - is it someone like Greg Downes?239 - Everton 1980 would be just on the cusp of changing the old guard (Howard Kendall, Bob Latchford) and getting in the new breed of the Sharps, Stevens etc. Not Billy Wright is it?243 - don't really know much about cov from that era - wasn't there someone Phillips? althogh that may have been later250 - I think Dave bennett when he played for Coventry in the 1987 cup final was advertised as having started out at Man City so I'm going with him Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Not a massively well known player although he did get 2 caps for England as a 21 year old (despite not playing for the u21s I don't think. Left Norwich after 177 games as a 25 year old and his career seemed to have seen its best times. Dropped into non-league at 27 before bizarrely coming back in the league with West Brom. Maybe injuries were an issue?239 not Billy Wright. This player wasn't an England international but seemed to get a B' cap in 1990. He won an FA Cup and I reckon he played top flight with 3 of his clubs making over 450 top flight appearances.243 Possibly the least well known out of these 4 and certainly a journey man.
