Chilwellram
Preston North End are battling to keep midfield prospect Josh Brownhill before next week's transfer deadline, HITC Sport understands from sources close to a potential deal. The stylish playmaker played a starring role in Preston's shock League Cup success over Watford on Tuesday and now a host of Premier League and Championship clubs are ready to bid for the teenager. The one-time Manchester United trainee has long been on the radar of a number of clubs, but it now looks like Preston are ready to cash in. Carl Sagan
You folks on here who write for HITC should have a word with the guy (Graeme Bailey) who wrote this tosh. One paragraph reads:The one-time Manchester United trainee has long been on the radar of a number of clubs, but it now looks like Preston are ready to cash in.Then a little further on we get:Brownhill has one year left on his current deal, and Preston are understood to be keen on handing him a new long-term contract in an effort to fend off unwanted interest and keep the talented 19-year-old on their books.Keen to keep him and ready to cash in. That's some impressive double dealing, but according to writer Graeme's bioHe specialises in transfer stories and over the years has broken a number of big stories and scoops.I don't think this is one of them: http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2015/08/28/preston-battling-to-retain-josh-brownhills-services-amid-premier/
Bris Vegas
Just read it - and I don't get your arguement?Preston want to keep him, but they are keen to cash in. That implies Preston want to keep him, but if he's not going to accept a new contract now as he enters the final 12 months, then they will cash in on him in order not to lose him for free next summer. SouthernRam
Have to admit I haven't seen much of him, but I'd rather be taking a gamble on a young hotshot who has succeeded in lower leagues and is doing well in the Championship than some past-it on 50k a week. You lot need to stop getting on the backs of the HITC writers / posters too - some articles have evolved into proven deals and I presume then that there's a fair bit of substance to their work! It's also good to debate the potential players we're after, don't you think?

SouthernRam
Quick question, Christie or Shotton? Who do you prefer? At the moment, Shotton is a more solid right back in my opinion but Christie offers more going forward. Christie also seems to lack some of the basics of defending at times. Why? I think Christie could really benefit from a loan.

RamNut
I'd love to see us turn christie into a great full back.he looked his old self v brum going forward. Surely the benefit of a good coach is to sort out the defensive part of his game.unfortunately it doesn't look like we are going to bother trying. SouthernRam
Christie: lower league hotshotShotton: Big wage Prem waster.Yeah, but Shotton isn't on the ridiculous wages that some of the suggestions are on. Plus he's still only 26, no 30+.
